Grading Criteria - WP Rugby Referee

GRADING & FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
Approved: 03 April 2012
A: REFEREES: Super League, Div 1, Div 2
• Level 1 and Level 2
• TJ Course
• Exam
• Bleep test
• Consistent fulfillment of match fixtures
• Under 19A School Matches: will count towards referee assessments
• Minimum of 3 reports for upgrading from Executive / Performance Reviewer ,
of which at least 2 must be from different games (OR) Consistent
recommendations to a higher level from different Executive / Performance
Reviewers committee members which must be at 3 different matches.
B: REFEREES: Div 3, Div 4, Div 5, UNCLASSIFIED
• Level 1
• TJ Course
• Exam
• Bleep test
• Consistent fulfillment of honoring match fixtures
• Under 16A School Matches (and upwards): will count towards referee
assessments
• Unclassified referee needs a minimum of 2 reports from 2 different
matches for classification from 2 Executive / Performance Reviewers
committee.
• Division 3 ; 4 and 5 needs a minimum of 2 reports form 2 different
matches for upgrading of which at least 1 must be from a Performance
Reviewer / Executive committee member and the other from a :
‣ Provincial Referee or
‣ Division 1 Active Referee
C: REFEREES: Div 6, Div 7, BEGINNER
• Level 1
• TJ Course

• Exam (Beginners that join society after exam have been written can be place ,
provided he meets the rest of the criteria )
• Bleep test
• Consistent fulfillment of honoring match fixtures
• Under 15A School Matches (and upwards): will count towards referees
assessments
• Minimum of 1 report for upgrading and Beginners for placement , from :
- Performance Reviewer
- Executive Member
- Provincial , Div 1 active referee
D: DOWN GRADING:
• If referee does not obtain the prescribed criteria levels.
• Consistent recommendations to a LOWER LEVEL from members of the
Executive and / or Performance Reviewers.
