God of Hope, help each of us take time from our busy schedules and prepare for <strong>the</strong><br />

celebration of <strong>the</strong> birth of Jesus Christ. Let <strong>the</strong> joy of His promise of salvation, keep our faith<br />

alive and make us eager to let His light shine in us and in <strong>the</strong> lives of those we meet. Amen.<br />

PRAYERS: We continue to keep in prayer all our families who are experiencing difficult times.<br />

Our <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> community is a true blessing.<br />

Virtue of <strong>the</strong> week: Hope - as we journey through this <strong>Advent</strong> Season, <strong>the</strong> virtue of hope keeps<br />

us focused on what is truly important, <strong>the</strong> promise of our salvation through Jesus. We are so<br />

blessed by our <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> students who show us hope in so many ways.<br />

GOODBYE AND WELCOME; On Monday we say farewell to Mr. Waite, who is moving to<br />

Oregon. We thank him for all he has done for <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> and wish him all <strong>the</strong> best. We also say<br />

welcome to Mr. Juarez who is our ne\ P.E. coach for grades 5 thru 8. Congratulations, Mr.<br />

Juarez!<br />

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS LITURGY MASS: Reminder: <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> Church will<br />

celebrate a special Christmas Liturgy for children and <strong>the</strong>ir families, on Christmas Eve at 4:00 pm<br />

in <strong>the</strong> hall. This is an excellent opportunity for children to experience <strong>the</strong> liturgy at a level geared<br />

to <strong>the</strong>ir understanding. Please come and 6elebrate this special Mass.<br />

CHRISTMAS PRAYER PROGRAM: Our Christmas program "Christmas Around <strong>the</strong> World"<br />

is scheduled for Thursday, December 17th at 6:30 pm. This evening is a special opportunity for<br />

our community to come toge<strong>the</strong>r to prepare for Christmas. Our Christmas program will also be<br />

presented on Friday, December 18l at 9:15 am in <strong>the</strong> church. Reminder: at <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong><br />

program all students will return to <strong>the</strong>ir classroom to pick up coals and jackets and receive <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

treat before leaving.<br />

THANK YOU; A special thank you to Michelle Doyle for all her effort and time spent at our<br />

Barnes & Noble Bookfair, and to our fantastic <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> Teachers. <strong>St</strong>udents, and parents too,<br />

really enjoyed <strong>the</strong> story time with our teachers. Many thanks to all who supported this fundraiser.<br />

Remember - <strong>the</strong> voucher is good until this Sunday.<br />

THANK YOU; Thank you to Jean Smart for organizing <strong>the</strong> 7th grade See's Candy fundraiser.<br />

THANK YOU; Thank you to 8th grade and 1st grade for our school Mass (Feast of Immaculate<br />

Conception) on Tuesday.<br />

MINIMUM DAY: Reminder: Friday, December 18th is a minimum day, 12:00 dismissal. Please<br />

note: Extended care and preschool will be closed at 12:00.<br />

GIFT CARDS: Gift card orders will resume January 8th. Also, thank you to Sheri Jacobs, Lisa<br />

Mookini and Shizuyo Solis and Amy Miramontes for volunteering <strong>the</strong>n- time to process gift card<br />

orders and thank you to all our families who support our gift card program. Without your help<br />

this program would not be possible. Reminder: If you have ordered gift cards, please remember<br />

<strong>the</strong>y must be picked up on December 18 by noon.<br />

COOKIE DOUGH/PIZZA FUNDRAISER; Looking ahead! The Cookie Dough/Pizza<br />

fundraiser begins on Friday, January 8th and will end January 29th. This is a great fundraiser and a<br />

wonderful way to offset your family fundraising commitment of $450.00.<br />

SAFETY PATROL'S CANDIDATE; Best wishes to Caitlin Edwards who is our <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong> Safety Patrol's candidate for Colonel. Caitlin interviewed on Wednesday for this<br />

prestigious award.<br />

MAKE-UP: Last chance to order! If you are ordering school pictures, please mark your selection<br />

and return with payment Monday.<br />

WINTER SPORTS: Thank you to all our parents who will be volunteering <strong>the</strong>ir time to coach<br />

our winter sports program. You make our sports program happen!<br />

6TH GR. BINGO FUNDRAISER FOR 6TH GR. CAMP; Mark calendar! Once again Fr. Mario<br />

has graciously offered <strong>the</strong> proceeds from one Church Bingo night to go towards our student's 6th<br />

grade camp. That night has been scheduled for Friday, January 8th from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Come<br />

join <strong>the</strong> fun and help support our 6th grade camp fundraiser.<br />

CONFETTI EGGS: Looking ahead! Our annual Springfest confetti egg collection has started.<br />

With <strong>the</strong> holidays approaching and lots of baking going on it's time to plan on saving egg shells<br />

for our Confetti egg booth at Springfest. This is a very popular booth and lots of egg shells our<br />

needed to keep this booth open. Please do not bring in <strong>the</strong> clean shells until after <strong>the</strong> holidays.<br />
