<strong>Faithful</strong> <strong>God</strong>, <strong>You</strong> give us forty days of Lent to quiet ourselves and explore our innermost<br />
hearts. Let these sacred days be a time when we seek and find <strong>You</strong>, always loving and always<br />
forgiving. Amen.<br />
Virtue of the Week: Sacrifice. During this Lenten season, we focus Jesus' tremendous love for<br />
us, and how His sacrifice became our salvation. We ask for the grace and courage to do small acts<br />
of sacrifice as we journey through these forty days.<br />
PRAYERS: Prayers are with all our families and extended families who are experiencing<br />
difficult times. May the support and love of our community bring you comfort.<br />
LENT: Reminder: <strong>St</strong>udents in grades 1 through 8 are attending the 8:15 Mass once a week<br />
during Lent. Please remember students need to be in full dress uniform. We invite you to join us<br />
if you are able.<br />
SPAGHETTI PINNER: Join us this Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 20* from 4:30 -7:30 pm for a great<br />
Spaghetti Dinner while enjoying great company and lots of fun. If you haven't purchased a ticket<br />
you still have time. Tickets will be sold at the door. Adults $8.00 and children under 11 are $5.00.<br />
SPORTS PICTURE PAY: Reminder: Sports picture day is scheduled for Monday, <strong>February</strong><br />
22nd from 8:30 -10:00 am. <strong>St</strong>udents on pee wee soccer through JV & Varsity teams will have their<br />
picture taken. <strong>You</strong> can wear your sports jersey with uniform shorts. NO CLEATS. For students<br />
who played boys JV football & girls JV & Varsity volleyball Mr. Juarez will be here to hand out<br />
jerseys. Coaches if you would like to be included in the team picture, please try and be here.<br />
THANK YOU: Many Thanks to our <strong>St</strong>udent Council. This past Sunday, the Religion<br />
Committee sold "Lollipops for HCA" after the 7:30 and 9:30 masses. All proceeds go to Holy<br />
Childhood Association (mission), where "children help children" around the world. Thank you to<br />
everyone who supported our students' efforts to make the world a better place.<br />
YEARBOOK: Our yearbook will be awesome! If you haven't placed your yearbook order -<br />
you still have time. All orders must be received by <strong>February</strong> 26 . Order forms can be picked up in<br />
the school office. We are still in need of candid <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Columba</strong> school event pictures for our<br />
yearbook. <strong>You</strong> can send in your pictures to the school office.<br />
SPRINGFEST 2010; Looking ahead! Lots of help is needed to make Springfest 2010 a great<br />
success. Join us for lots of fun April 24* for a day of family fun from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. We<br />
need Thank <strong>You</strong> Booth items. We ask each family to send in at least 5 items must be new or<br />
unused and in original packaging. Keep bringing in those clean egg shells. We need everyone to<br />
send in 2-liter bottles of soda for the Ring Toss Booth. Clean baby jars are still needed. Any<br />
questions, please contact Judy Daugherty @(858) 822-9660 or contact the school office. Look for<br />
the order form coming home today for Opportunity drawing, presale tickets, wristbands, T-Shirts<br />
orders and Spaghetti Dinner. Deadline for presale orders is April 23rd.
SPR1NGFEST T-SHIRT CONTEST: We're looking for a great t-shirt design for Springfest<br />
2010. Send in your drawing on a white 8" x 11" piece of paper. Use markers (no crayons)<br />
deadline is Friday, March <strong>19</strong>th.<br />

COOKIE DOUGH/PIZZA FUNDRAISER: Reminder: For families who ordered these<br />
products, orders will arrive and be ready for pick up on Tuesday, March 9th. All orders must be<br />
picked up from 2:00 - 6:00 in the day care room. Please remember if you cannot pick up your<br />
order, please have an alternate pick up your order for you.<br />
LUNCH SHAPE STRUCTURE: Update on the shade structure: We have received estimates<br />
from 3 companies to replace the lunch table canopy structure damaged in the recent storms. Our<br />
hope is to have new canopies installed before we break for Easter.<br />
