Teaching via Erasmus
As a teacher or a doctoral student, you can obtain a grant to teach (e.g. lectures, seminars, supervision,
examinations) at a partner university in Europe. Your stay must include at least five hours of teaching and last a
maximum of six weeks. The grant covers the cost of travel and an amount based on the length of your stay.
Applications are accepted continuously.
Checklist for your application for a grant and report on Erasmus teacher mobility
Application
Printed application form signed by you and your head of department/equivalent
You will find the application form here: http://www.lu.se/o.o.i.s/20149 Fill in all the information
required. The application form cannot be printed out if any information is missing. Click Save and
print out the completed answer page that appears. This is the page that is to be signed and sent in.
Erasmus Teaching Programme
You will find the Erasmus Teaching Programme here: http://www.lu.se/o.o.i.s/20149 Fill in the
information required. Objectives of mobility, added value of mobility, content of the teaching
programme and expected results of the mobility must be completed in English. Remember that the
information provided is to be brief and concise. Print out the Teaching Programme and sign it. Make
sure that your head of department/equivalent signs it as well. The Teaching Programme should
preferably be signed by the contact person at the host department at the time of application. You can,
however, get it signed once there. In that case, at the time of application, you send in a copy of the
Teaching Programme without a signature from the host department. The Teaching Programme signed
by all parties concerned will then be submitted together with your report.
Send in the completed application to Erasmus Teacher Mobility, International Relations, HS
34, before you leave.
Before your departure
Insurance. Your department can provide you with travel insurance from the Legal, Financial
and Administrative Services Agency, free of charge. Regardless of what insurance coverage
you have, you should also carry the Regional Social Insurance Office’s European health
insurance card for stays within Europe. This entitles you to reduced prices for healthcare
services and can be ordered on http://www.forsakringskassan.se/privatpers/utomlands/
Contact information that you may need (e.g. the number to call to block your bank cards).
Make sure your next of kin also have your contact information and your travel itinerary; if
something happens at a time when they are unable to get hold of you, it can be useful for
them to know your flight number for example.
Gifts for the people who will receive you at the host institution are a nice idea (e.g. LUspecific
gift items).
Information material about LU. Powerpoint presentations about LU can be found on
http://www5.lu.se/o.o.i.s/3571

During your stay abroad
Take every opportunity to present LU to students and/or staff during your stay.
Meet any LU students who are studying at your host university while you are there. For
contact information on these students, ask your international faculty coordinator.
Reporting on your return
