NEW MEMBERS<br />
National Headquarters has added two new members to <strong>the</strong> rolls <strong>of</strong> Chapter 1919 since<br />
publication <strong>of</strong> last month’s <strong>PATRIOT</strong> <strong>BULLETIN</strong>. Welcome and Congratulations to:<br />
WALLACE E. DOWNEY is an Army Korean War veteran. Wally was serving in <strong>the</strong><br />
I & R Platoon, HHC, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team when wounded July 9, 1953<br />
during a fire fight at an outpost near Kumhwa in <strong>the</strong> Iron Triangle in North Korea.<br />
BILLY H. HUGHES is a Marine Corps Korean War veteran. Billy was wounded May 9,<br />
1952 when assigned to Co A, 1st Bn, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division.<br />
At “press-time” <strong>the</strong>re were two additional applications in processing at National Headquarters.<br />

This newsletter can be viewed on <strong>the</strong> internet at our chapter’s website. Go to:<br />
purpleheartaustin.org and click on October-November 2005 Newsletter to open it up<br />
and read it. It was posted <strong>the</strong>re about 10 days before you received this paper version in<br />
your mailbox. The numbers just keep growing among our members and friends <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
chapter who tell <strong>the</strong> editor to stop wasting money printing and mailing newsletters.<br />
They say it looks better in color on <strong>the</strong>ir home computers. The chapter is now realizing<br />
significant savings on newsletter printing and postage costs, but it will help if even<br />
more sign up. Upon your request, Chapter 1919 will inform you by e-mail each month<br />
as soon as <strong>PATRIOT</strong> <strong>BULLETIN</strong> is available for viewing and we will suspend mailing<br />
this paper copy (until such future time that you may want us to re-start mailings). To<br />
