Diabetes management should include lifestyle and
pharmacotherapy measures to achieve a nearnormal
HbA1c level of < 7%.
Diabetes management should also include the
following:
a. Vigorous modification i of other risk factors (e.g.,
physical activity, weight management, BP control,
and cholesterol management) as recommended
should be initiated and maintained.
It is useful to coordinate the patient’s diabetic care
with the patient’s primary care physician or
endocrinologist.
