Diabetes management should include lifestyle and<br />
pharmacotherapy measures to achieve a nearnormal<br />
HbA1c level of < 7%.<br />
Diabetes management should also include the<br />
following:<br />
a. Vigorous modification i of other risk factors (e.g.,<br />
physical activity, weight management, BP control,<br />
and cholesterol management) as recommended<br />
should be initiated and maintained.<br />
It is useful to coordinate the patient’s diabetic care<br />
with the patient’s primary care physician or<br />
endocrinologist.
