2 Academic Calendar 2012-2013 Academic Calendar 2012-2013 FALL 2012 SPRING 2013 Late registration begins ($25.00 late registration fee charged). Aug. 20 The first day of instruction for the term. Aug. 20 Jan. 7 Last day students may add a course on-line. (Classes added after this date require appropriate signatures.) Aug. 24 Deadline for cancellation of enrollment from WSU with full refund (less administration fee). Aug. 24 Martin Luther King Jr Day—ALL UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY Jan. 21 Deadline to change from audit to credit. Aug. 31 Deadline for enrollment prior to $100 late registration fee. Aug. 31 at 5pm Last day a student may receive a refund for special course fees. Aug. 31 at 5pm Labor Day—ALL UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY Sept. 3 Students shall be assessed a 3% late payment penalty on unpaid tuition and mandatory fees balances. Sept. 4 Last day to change enrollment from letter grade to pass/fail. Sept. 7 Last day to add a course as audit or to change from credit to audit. Sept. 14 Deadline for dropping a course without record. (Course withdrawals after this date are recorded on the student’s transcript). Sept. 18 Feb. 5 Students shall be assessed an additional 5% late payment penalty on unpaid tuition and mandatory fee balance (the 30th calendar day of the academic term). Sept. 18 at 5pm Last day to file residency application. Sept. 18 Presidents’ Day—Class Holiday Feb. 18 Students shall be assessed an additional 7% late payment penalty on unpaid tuition and mandatory fee balance (the 45th calendar day of the academic term). Oct. 3 at 5pm Deadline to apply for a graduate degree, graduate certificate, or teaching certificate. Oct. 5 Last day to apply for an undergraduate degree for Dec. 2012 without $75 late fee. Oct. 5 Spring Vacation March 11–15 Deadline to schedule final oral examination for an advanced degree. Nov. 2 Priority registration begins for Spring 2013 (November) and Fall and Summer 2013 (April). Nov. 5 Veteran’s Day—All University Holiday Nov. 12 Deadline to use a regular withdrawal to withdraw from a course. (Undergraduate students only, see Rule 68.) Nov. 16 Deadline to take final oral examination for an advanced degree. Nov. 16 Thanksgiving Vacation Nov. 19–23 Theses due to Graduate School. Nov. 27 Deadline to use uncontested course withdrawal.
