Builder Notes for Ocean Going <strong>Ironclad</strong>s<br />

Max added weight – 180 tons. Max guns – 14, Max Armor – 12”, Max Boilers – 4. Must have at least 1”<br />

armor, 1 boiler & stack. Turrets can have 1-2 guns. Ram weighs 10 tons. No spars allowed. Draft (depth in<br />

water) in feet equals added weight divided by 20 (example: adding 160 tons to a ship results in an 8 ft draft).<br />

Color in parts to your design, cut out, fold, trim away portions not used, but do not shorten the base. Don’t<br />

forget to color the flag! Blue for the North, red for the South. Flags mark the stern (back) of the ship,<br />

anchors are at the bow (front).<br />
