Duties and Responsibilities of
Pastoral Coordinator

1. Have a direct personal contact with all priests in the
Archdiocese, and be their friend and guide especially in
difficult situations connected with their ministry or
personal life. Pay attention to the grievances that our
priests may have against anyone in the curia or various
departments, and settle the matter amicably.
2. Personnel placements: preparing the list for transfer,
presenting it before the curia and transfer committee and
assisting the curia for smooth transfers.
3. Make sure of the availability of short term placement of
the priests in parishes and institutions whenever there
is a leave due to sickness or other emergencies.
4. Look after the priests’ welfare: taking care of the well
being of the priests of the Archdiocese, visit them when
they are sick, make arrangements for their medical care
etc. Taking care of the well being of the priests’ homes;
5. Arrange for the priests’ annual meeting with the bishops;
6. Send the priests for short term courses and programs to
enhance their capacity for pastoral ministry;
7. Attend the monthly recollections in each of the Foranes
on a regular basis and collect the reports from the
Foranes for the perusal of the curia. He can also advice
the Forane vicars in conducting the monthly recollection
more fruitfully.
