The easiest way how to signifi cantly reduce the amount of
VOC released into the atmosphere is to use water-borne
coating systems
Water-borne coatings have been developed for and tested
under various demanding operating conditions. They have
excellent anticorrosive properties and feature perfect gloss
and colour retention. Numerous references serve as the
best evidence of the high-quality and long-lasting protection.
The importance of water-borne paints becomes more and
more prevalent nowadays, because they meet the strictest
environmental legislation, but also offers a safe and healthy
working environment. They are ideal for workshop use.
They can be diluted with normal “tap” water and there’s no
need of any special equipment for their application. They
can be applied by airless spraying, brush or roller.
Water-borne coatings feature these major advantages:
- They contain only negligible amount of VOC.
- They assure good working conditions for staff thanks to
reduced exposure to solvents.
- There is no explosion or fi re risk when using water-borne
paints.
- Outstanding long lasting protection of all metal structures
- Glossy cosmetic appearance
Paint systems made of only waterborne paints have been
used in a large number of projects such as:
- tanks and pipes on refi neries
- steel constructions for power plants
- steel constructions for chemical plants
- harbour cranes
- cranes for production halls
- interior areas on offshore platforms
- offshore jacket
- sea-buoys
- railway bridge
- rail-cars
- stainless steel reefers
- containers
- rocket testing facilities
- windmills
