Whether you’re making it or listening to it, or sharing it, there’s something about music that has the power to heal. Music does more than just fill an environment; it transforms it. MusicRx ® MusicRx calms and delights hospitalized children, teens, their family members, and the medical professionals who care for them by infusing the hospital environment with the healing power of music. Fueled by therapeutic music specialists and highly trained volunteers, our flagship program has been delivering bedside music medicine, hallway performances, and an interactive mobile music cart for 17 years. MyMusicRx ® Most kids are used to experiencing music online, in digital form. Realizing this, we created MyMusicRx.org, an online portal that connects kids to the healing power of music. Young patients can register to receive free music and apps, play free online games, watch video greetings from their favorite celebrities, and connect with other teens.
CCA’s MusicRx program provided music and tailored service 15,915 times and provided 530 palliative interactions with terminally ill children, teens, and their family members. CCA’s MyMusicRx.org program launched in September 2011 and has already provided more than 50,000 moments of online music medicine. More than 120 kids logged in to watch specially-created music videos for them 1,379 times.
