This document outlines the acceptable use of the Infinite Campus Portal for students, parents,
guardians, and other legal contacts.

PURPOSE
Ottawa Area Intermediate School District uses Infinite Campus as its Student Information System. This system has
an associated portal that allows parents, guardians, students, and legally eligible contacts to see real time information
on their associated student record. This is to improve the participation and communication between the
parents/guardians/legal contacts and the student’s teachers. Each building decides what information is accessible on
the Portal which can include:
Personal data and contact preferences
Attendance
Behavioral information
Student schedule
Transportation/routing information
Grade book and assignments
Standards
Report Cards
Transcripts
Fees
Assessments
Each building within Ottawa Area ISD controls which information is displayed on the portal based upon which
part(s) of the system the building uses. Ottawa Area ISD and each constitute building reserve the right to
display or remove any of the above functions.
PORTAL ACCESS
Use of the Infinite Campus Portal is a privilege, not a right. Access is determined by each building based upon
relationships of the parents, guardians, or other legal contacts to the student. A parent/guardian/legal contact
only needs one account to view all student information that they have access to. Each user that is accessing
the Ottawa Area ISD Portal must adhere to the following guidelines:
1. User will act in a responsible, legal and ethical manner.
2. User will not attempt to harm or destroy data, the school or the district network.
3. User will not attempt to access data or any other account owned by another user.
4. User will not use the information on this Portal for any illegal activity, including violation of Federal and/or
State Data Privacy laws. Anyone found to be in violation of these laws may be subject to Civil and/or
Criminal prosecution.
5. Users who identify a security problem with the Portal must notify the district and/or building where the
student attends immediately.
6. Users will not share their password or Activation Key with anyone including their own child/children.
7. Users will not set their own computer to automatically login to the Portal to protect privacy.
8. Users identified as a security risk to the Portal or to Ottawa Area ISD or its buildings will be denied access
to the Portal.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Portal is accessible through any Internet connection with a modem connection of 56K or higher or any
broadband (i.e. Cable, DSL, corporate) connection. The Portal can be viewed on either a Windows-based or
Macintosh-based machine with the following specifications:

Display Settings: Best viewed with a minimum resolution of 800x600, 1024x768 is optimal

Ottawa Area ISD is not responsible for software modifications made to personal computers with any plug-in
downloaded and installed to the machine.

DATA INTEGRITY
Every effort is made to make sure that student’s data is accurate and complete. Any inaccuracies in the data,
changes in the level of involvement with the student or other concerns should be reported to the building/school
that your child/children attends immediately.
DATA INTERPRETATION
Each building in the Ottawa Area ISD determines the frequency and the schedule when data is updated and
what data is displayed on the Portal view. Attendance and grades may vary based upon this schedule.
Questions should be addressed to the building/school in which the student attends.

I have read and understand the information in this document and will adhere to the acceptable use of the
Ottawa Area Infinite Campus Parent Portal System.
