ECUADOR’S LOCATION<br />
Straddling the equator in<br />
western South America,<br />
Ecuador has land in both the<br />
Northern and the Southern<br />
hemispheres. It borders<br />
Colombia in the north and Peru<br />
in the South and the East. The<br />
Pacific Ocean is Ecuador’s<br />
western border.<br />
The land area totals 283.560 km², including the<br />
Galapagos Islands. The border with Colombia<br />
is 590 kms. and the border with Peru is 1.420<br />
kms. It has coastline of 2.237 kms.<br />
