The 15th edition of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament was played on Monday,
September 12, 2011, at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, on both the Blue and Red Courses.
Thank you to our golfers and corporate sponsors who helped us raise over $525,000.
ACHIEVEMENTS
SAVE THE DATE
The 16th annual MCH Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on
Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
OUR MISSION
The Organizing Committee’s mission is to support excellence in pediatric
care at The Montreal Children’s Hospital by fundraising to attract and
retain the best and brightest medical professionals. As a result of this
support, these individuals have been given the opportunity to direct their
time towards the development of new groundbreaking projects in child care.
Among the accomplishments made possible by the MCHF Golf Tournament are the Dorothy Williams Chair in Pediatric
Surgery and the Tony Dobell Chair in Pediatric Surgery. The Dorothy Williams Chair is currently held by world-renowned
neurosurgeon and The Children’s Surgeon-in-Chief, Dr. Jean Pierre Farmer and we are proud to announce the appointment
of Dr. Christo Tchervenkov, The Children’s Director of Cardiovascular Surgery, to the Tony Dobell Chair. Chairs like these
allow our academic institutions to attract and retain world-class talent with cutting-edge ideas, a mandate central to their
continued success.
Moreover, proceeds from the Tournament fund a visiting lectureship series and a fellowship, which also help in the sharing
of expertise and development of new talent. For example, Dr. Mirko Gilardino was a beneficiary of the fellowship and is
currently Director of Craniofacial Surgery and the H.B. Williams Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery Unit at The Children’s, another
innovative program funded by the Tournament.
