Description:
The dosing and buffering machine is a conveyor of high volume with an integrated chamfering
head (assembly of chamfering cylinders). The machine is composed by the following main
components:
- Compact buffering hopper with drive and return station for the conveyor
- Chamfering head assembly with chamfering cylinders, protection cover, scraper
conveyor drive
- Scraper conveyor, consisting of:
o Drive and return shaft, chain star wheels and return wheels
o Scraper equipment bolded both sides on the conveyor chains
- Support construction for horizontal or inclined implantation
The throughput of the conveyor is continuously adjustable by the speed of the scraper conveyor,
consisting of 2 or 4 chains interconnected by the scrapers and matching all needs.
The drive of the conveyor is assured by the drive shaft, equipped by a planetary or flat gear
motor with frequency converter. The design of the drive assembly is based on:
- The volume of the hopper
- The density of the product
- The speed of the conveyor (output volume)
- The kind of implantation (horizontal or inclined)
The drive assembly can be installed on the right, the left or on both sides according to the
necessities.
The hopper is made from very strong steel plates, continuously welded. The upper and the lower
floors are tide against inside humidity and dust. Various thickness and qualities of steel plates
can be chosen according to the application of the conveyor. Tranquillised steel plates are
normally used, 6 mm for the upper floor, 3 mm for the lower floor and 5 mm for the hopper
walls. Following the customer’s wishes, other sizes and qualities of steel plate can be offered,
like Hardox or stainless steel.

The chamfering head is installed on the outlet side of the hopper. The product, in-feeded by the
scraper conveyor, is milled through the chamfering head, composed from chamfering cylinders
installed one above the other and inclined, and constantly delivered on to the following
conveyor. The chamfering cylinders are equipped by floating common individual gear drives.
Shredder teeth or screws according to the needs equip the chamfering cylinders. They assure
the perfect delivery on to the following conveyor.
The injection of further products like minerals, alimentation additives, straw or hey into the
outflow of material can be achieved in animal feeding installations, just in front of the
chamfering head. The rotation of the chamfering cylinders assures a good mixing of all
products.
The chamfering head and the scraper conveyor drive is equipped by rotation control means,
cutting off immediately in case of any defaults.
Various standard dimensions are available:
- Width: 1500, 2000 and 2300 mm
- Height of hopper: 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000 and 2250 mm
The combination of length and width gives the dosing and buffering machine a capacity
of 5 to 130 m 3 . Other volumes are available on request.
The loading of the dosing and buffering machine can be done on both sides and on the rear side
by tilting from vehicles, charging by wheel front loaders or by any feeding conveyor system. In
case of punctual loading of the hopper, an equalizer on top of the hopper of the dosing and
buffering machine can be installed.
