4 Children and Parent Resource Team – Under CGC’s leadership, this interagency team provides coordinated services for families of children with multiple needs requiring services from several community agencies with a special focus on families whose children are at risk for abuse and neglect. Many of the staff from both agencies know each other and maintain ongoing contact to better serve their clients.There are often times when we refer individuals within families that we are serving to one another realizing that both agencies have specific expertise that may be more appropriate given each person’s unique needs.” Danielle Sieckhaus, LCSW Director of Clinical Outreach Services, Family Centers, Inc. HIV-Affected Children - Specialized mental health services are provided for children with HIV/AIDS or affected by the disease of their parents or close relatives, or the death of family members from AIDS. Services include permanency planning, legacy tapes, and bereavement counseling for HIV affected children and their parents and prospective guardians. Crime Victims Assistance Program – Comprehensive services are provided to children who have been witnesses or victims of crime to reduce immediate and potential long-term emotional consequences. Community Education – Mental health seminars and workshops are conducted for the general public and professionals working with children to increase awareness of issues affecting child development and enhance the emotional well being of children and families. Consultation Services – CGC provides professional consultation to area preschools and schools, courts, residential facilities and shelters, substance abuse programs and other youth serving agencies to help them more effectively respond to the special needs of youngsters with emotional or behavioral problems. Community Emergency Response Program – On site assistance and counseling are provided in response to emergencies impacting large groups in the community.
