Housing & Native American Services Coordinator
Paula Lain Smykle is the
new Flandreau Santee Sioux
Tribal Transitional Housing
& Native American Services
Coordinator. She was hired
in July on a Friday and hit
the ground running that next
Tuesday.
Background: Smykle has her
Bachelor of Science in Social
Work and her Master of
Social Work Degree’s from
the University of South Dakota
in Vermillion, SD. She
is a licensed Certified Social
Worker for the State of
South Dakota at the Masters’
level and provides individual
therapy part-time for individuals/youth
at Family Service,
Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD.
She also volunteers for the
Heuermann Counseling
Clinic as a therapist for individuals
with no insurance.
This therapy is provided for
no cost to the client.
Smykle lives in Sioux Falls,
SD.
Family background: Smykle
grew up in a military family
and was raised in North Carolina,
to later graduate highschool
from Akron, Iowa
and settle down in Sioux
Falls, SD.
Personal interests: Smykle
enjoys live music, nature,
festivals, and spending time
with family and friends.
Loves to host BBQ’s and
game nights!

grants that provide funding
to assist victims/
survivors of Domestic Violence/Sexual
Assault with
long-term transitional housing
and legal assistance.
Coordinated Tribal Assistance
Solicitation Grant
awarded to FSST.
Family Violence Prevention
Services Act Grant awarded
to FSST.

Against Family Violence &
Sexual Assault (The Network)

violence/sexual assault into shelter when appropriate and necessary.
Wholeness Center works closely with the Transitional Housing & Native American
Services Program. ”
