EVERY 500 HOURS<br />
I. REPEAT DAILY u 50 HOUR AND 250 HOUR<br />
SCHEDULES<br />
2. COOLING SYSTEM<br />
Clean radiator core by blowing out with compressed<br />
air.<br />
Inspect radiator mounting.<br />
Inspect water pump and connections for leaks.<br />
Check fan and accessory drive belts.<br />
4. CARBURETOR<br />
Clean exterior and check mounting to manifold.<br />
Adjust carburetor air adjustment for even<br />
running and adjust idle speed to 400-600 R.P.M.<br />
minimum.<br />
..Inspect throttle and choke liflkage for free<br />
operation.<br />

Clean Filter bowl and screen.<br />
Inspect mounting and gasket.<br />
Check all connections for leaks.<br />

3. ADJUST VALVE TAPPET CLEARANCE<br />
Check and adjust intake and exhaust valve<br />
tappets to following clearances at idling speed and<br />
running temperature:<br />

Spark test with engine operating by checking<br />
firing with each high tension cable held about<br />
1/16" away from spark plug terminal.<br />

Remove end cap and examine carbon brushes<br />
for free-movement and inspect breaker points for<br />
wear and gap. Gap should be .015.<br />
7. SAFETY AND THERMAL CONTROLS<br />
Inspec*~ control wires and connections.<br />
Examine armored capillary tubing on water<br />
temperature element for visual damage that may<br />
cause faulty operation.<br />
8. ADJUST IOLE MIXTURES AND IDLE SPEED<br />
TO 400-600 R. P. M.
