Jacobs Model 460 - Jacobs has released a new tune up
kit, part number 3001340 (40355) and a new engine brake
housing assembly, part number 4298971 (40645) for front
and 4298972 (40644) for rear. The housings contain a new
slave piston, p/n 4298709 (40641). This slave piston has a
much larger chamber than the previous slave piston and can
be used in the earlier 460 housing assemblies. Only the new
slave piston will be offered by Jacobs. The aftermarket kit part
number is 2882113. The engine brake adjustment remains at
3.8mm (0.1496”).
Jacobs Intebrake for the ISX 15L - A new tune up kit is
now available which contains service parts for both the Type I
and Type II solenoid valves. This new tune up kit is backward
compatible to all ISX 15L Intebrakes regardless of model year.
The new tune up kit part number is 2882081 (28280).
Jacobs Model 349A – The Jacobs Model 349A
aftermarket engine brake kit, p/n143-7430 (18310), and
housing assemblies, p/n 104-9350 (19243) front, and
104-9351 (19244) rear, are no longer available from Jacobs
Vehicle Systems. The individual parts and the 349A tune up
kit part number 143-6622 (19461) will remain available for
sale.
CT 11 and CT 13 Engine - Jacobs Vehicle Systems has
released a Feeler Gauge for adjusting the Jacobs Engine
Brakes on the Caterpillar CT11 and CT13 engines. The
gauge part number is 040044 and can be obtained from
the Jacobs web site merchandise store.
New! Jacobs Vehicle Systems now offers branded
merchandise and select tools online.

What’s New for 2012 - The latest engine brake technology and updates
Jacobs Model 720 and 721– The 720 model engine
brake used on the 2007 emission Detroit Diesel DD16/
DD15/DD13 with serial numbers up to HDE007481 for
the DD16/DD15 and engine serial number HDE 0079072
for the DD13. The adjustment for is 4.1mm, and the
adjustment tool is part number W470589022300.
The 721 model is used on the 2010 emission certified
DD16/DD15/DD13 engines with engine serial numbers
HDE007481 and higher for the DD16/DD15, and the
HDE007902 and higher for the DD13. The engine brake
adjustment is 4.6mm, and the adjustment tool p/n is
W470589042300.
Jacobs Model 5783A – The Model 5783A replaces the
former Model 5783 for all International 2010 emission
certified MaxxForce 11 and 13 liter engines. The 5783A
has an enhanced hydraulic circuit. The 5783A is backward
compatible and replaces the 5783. A mix of 5783
and 5783A housings on an engine is acceptable. The
adjustment for both the 5783A and 5783A is .8mm
(0.031”). Production of the 5783A began in December
2011. The 5783A housing assembly part number is
3007628C93 (040332). The bridge assembly and hold
down capscrews are the same for both the 5783 and
5783A, and the part numbers are unchanged.
A new feeler gauge, p/n 040044 has been released for the
Model 5783A and 5783.
