Disability services<br />
At <strong>QUT</strong>, a disability is defined as any impairment, injury or<br />
medical condition, which may affect a student’s ability <strong>to</strong><br />
undertake a program of study successfully.<br />
Some, such as physical or sensory disabilities may be<br />
obvious, while others may not be apparent unless disclosed<br />
by the student (e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, dyslexia or mental<br />
health difficulties etc).<br />
A disability may be permanent, short-term or episodic in<br />
nature.<br />
• Temporary or short-term eg broken limbs, glandular fever<br />
• Episodic or permanent eg wheelchair user, psychiatric<br />
condition, learning difficulty, epilepsy<br />
