MCE - Mixed Celluloses Esters
The mixed cellulose esters membranes are composed of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate.
It is one of the most widely used membranes in analytical and research applications.
They are naturally hydrophilic, biologically inert and offer a good thermal stability.
MCE membrane is characterized by a smoother and more uniform surface than pure nitrocellulose
membrane which facilitates particles detection, and also a high retention level.
Gridded membranes are used in many microbiological techniques include colony counting after
incubation.
