About the Health Council of Canada<br />
Created by the 2003 First M<strong>in</strong>isters’ Accord on Health<br />
Care Renewal, the Health Council of Canada is an<br />
<strong>in</strong>dependent national agency that reports on the progress<br />
of health care renewal. The Council provides a systemwide<br />
perspective on health care reform <strong>in</strong> Canada, and<br />
dissem<strong>in</strong>ates <strong>in</strong>formation on lead<strong>in</strong>g practices and<br />
<strong>in</strong>novation across the country. The Councillors are<br />
appo<strong>in</strong>ted by the participat<strong>in</strong>g prov<strong>in</strong>cial and territorial<br />
governments and the Government of Canada.<br />
