3. That footpaths adjacent to buildings of Heritage significance and in Historic
Conservation Zones be constructed with a 60 mm rectangular block paver with a
header course in a charcoal grey colour at 15 metre centres.
4. That where an alternative pavement is in place, all best endeavours be used to match

POLICY
1. That the future reconstruction of footpaths throughout the new City be undertaken
using concrete block pavers.
2. When requests to carry out footpath construction as an extension of their own
property upgrading are received from property owners, no objection will be raised
provided that the material is the same as the insitu material in type, pattern and
colours and provided that the Manager, Works and Technical Services (or delegate)
is satisfied that the works will be undertaken to the Council’s specification.
3. That footpaths in residential areas be constructed using a 60mm concrete block
paver (or equivalent), of a rectangular shape and a mauve and black colour.
4. Footpaths in commercial areas be reconstructed using a dark red 60 mm rectangular
block paver (or equivalent) with a header course in a charcoal colour at 15 metre
centres.
5. That footpaths adjacent to buildings of heritage significance and in Historic
(Conservation) Zones be constructed with a 60 mm rectangular block paver (or
equivalent) with a header course in a charcoal grey colour at 15 metre centres.
6. That where an alternative pavement is in place, all best endeavours will be used to
