header course in a charcoal grey colour at 15 metre centres.<br />
4. That where an alternative pavement is in place, all best endeavours be used to match<br />

POLICY<br />
1. That the future reconstruction <strong>of</strong> footpaths throughout the new <strong>City</strong> be undertaken<br />
using concrete block pavers.<br />
2. When requests to carry out footpath construction as an extension <strong>of</strong> their own<br />
property upgrading are received from property owners, no objection will be raised<br />
provided that the material is the same as the insitu material in type, pattern and<br />
colours and provided that the Manager, Works and Technical Services (or delegate)<br />
is satisfied that the works will be undertaken to the Council’s specification.<br />
3. That footpaths in residential areas be constructed using a 60mm concrete block<br />
paver (or equivalent), <strong>of</strong> a rectangular shape and a mauve and black colour.<br />
4. Footpaths in commercial areas be reconstructed using a dark red 60 mm rectangular<br />
block paver (or equivalent) with a header course in a charcoal colour at 15 metre<br />
centres.<br />
5. That footpaths adjacent to buildings <strong>of</strong> heritage significance and in Historic<br />
(Conservation) Zones be constructed with a 60 mm rectangular block paver (or<br />
equivalent) with a header course in a charcoal grey colour at 15 metre centres.<br />
6. That where an alternative pavement is in place, all best endeavours will be used to<br />
match that pavement.<br />
REVIEW PROCESS<br />
The Council will review this <strong>Policy</strong> within 12 months <strong>of</strong> the adoption date <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Policy</strong>.<br />
