Fall brings the glorious color of the
hills which is worth the drive from miles
away, and while there, you can dine at
one of the town’s four restaurants, and
stop at the local shops.
Winter brings snowmobiling with
over 40 miles of trails, and hunting is a
pleasurable sport for many sportsmen.
Cabin rentals are available locally all year.
Spring brings the promise of good
fishing, growing crops, and another
successful season for the locally run
shops and restaurants alike. Trout
fishing in many of the local streams is a
must for many fishermen. Norskedalen
Nature and Heritage Center is a 400-
acre facility that is located 3 miles
seasonal cultural events and provides
educational programs all year. Hiking
trails, museums, a library, gift shop, and
a pioneer farmstead let people enjoy a
little Norwegian Heritage. An annual fall
Threshing Bee and Norskedalen’s Old
Fashioned Christmas are highly awaited
events. Skumsrud Heritage Farm is
owned and operated by Norskedalen,
and is located 1/2 mile west of Coon
Valley on Highway 14/61. This is an
buildings and is on the National Register
of Historic Places, open Memorial Day
through Labor Day.
