Thursday, September 2 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.)
Friday, September 3 (1:00-4:00 p.m.)
Bookstore Hours
The bookstore is located on the lower level of the MacDowell Library building.
Remember to bring a backpack or tote when picking up your child’s books.
Thursday, September 2 8th Grade Orientation
Drop-off for the Eighth grade Orientation is 10:00 a.m. at Camp Nonesuch with pick-up
scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Please refer to the letter from Susie McGee, Head of Middle
School, for further details and directions to Camp Nonesuch.
Monday, September 6 Labor Day – No School
Tuesday, September 7 School Orientation
Students should arrive to the Prince Building for a 9:00 a.m. check-in. Throughout the
day students will experience a shortened class schedule, meet with their advisors and
advisory groups, and participate in a number of other activities. It is also important that
students remember to be in dress code for the day. The Orientation Day will end at
2:34 p.m. with Middle School pick-up at 3:00 p.m.

Middle School Leadership Training
Middle School students will be involved in a variety of Leadership Training and
academic activities during these three days. Check-in is 8:00 a.m. each day. Pick-up is
between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m. Formal classes for the Middle School will begin on Tuesday,
September 14.
Wednesday, September 8 MS Sports begin
For the first day of sports, students should bring a change of athletic clothing and shoes.
Specific equipment needs will be discussed during this first practice.
Thursday, September 9 Rosh Hashanah – No School
Wednesday, September 15 8th Grade Parent Meeting
This is an important informational meeting with Head of Middle School Susie McGee
and Middle School Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All eighth-grade parents are asked
to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.

Thursday, September 16 School Picture Day
Students usually dress up a bit more for their school photos.
Monday, September 20 6th Grade Parent Meeting
This is an important informational meeting with Head of Middle School Susie McGee
and Middle School Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All sixth-grade parents are asked
to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.
Tuesday, September 21 7th Grade Parent Meeting
This is an important informational meeting with Head of Middle School Susie McGee
and Middle School Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All seventh-grade parents are
asked to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.
Thursday, September 30 Middle School Mini School
Mini School runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is an opportunity for parents to learn
more about the Middle School program. Parents will follow their child’s class schedule.
This is an important evening for parents as it provides first-hand information about the
Middle School curriculum and the opportunity to meet all of their child’s teachers.
Because of the early start a light supper is provided.

Parent Conferences
NO classes on Thursday, October 28
The Parent Conferences provide an opportunity for parents of sixth, seventh and new
eighth-grade students to meet with all of their child’s teachers. Parents of returning
eighth-grade students meet with their child’s advisor. Because the scheduling of
conferences is very complex, we are not able to honor requests for specific days or times.
You will receive your parent conference time in late September.
