Bookstore Hours<br />

<strong>The</strong> bookstore is located on the lower level of the MacDowell Library building.<br />

Remember to bring a backpack or tote when picking up your child’s books.<br />

Thursday, <strong>September</strong> 2 8th Grade Orientation<br />

Drop-off for the Eighth grade Orientation is 10:00 a.m. at Camp Nonesuch with pick-up<br />

scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Please refer to the letter from Susie McGee, Head of <strong>Middle</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong>, for further details and directions to Camp Nonesuch.<br />

Monday, <strong>September</strong> 6 Labor Day – No <strong>School</strong><br />

Tuesday, <strong>September</strong> 7 <strong>School</strong> Orientation<br />

Students should arrive to the Prince Building for a 9:00 a.m. check-in. Throughout the<br />

day students will experience a shortened class schedule, meet with their advisors and<br />

advisory groups, and participate in a number of other activities. It is also important that<br />

students remember to be in dress code for the day. <strong>The</strong> Orientation Day will end at<br />

2:34 p.m. with <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> pick-up at 3:00 p.m.<br />

<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Leadership Training<br />

<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> students will be involved in a variety of Leadership Training and<br />

academic activities during these three days. Check-in is 8:00 a.m. each day. Pick-up is<br />

between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m. Formal classes for the <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> will begin on Tuesday,<br />

<strong>September</strong> 14.<br />

Wednesday, <strong>September</strong> 8 MS Sports begin<br />

For the first day of sports, students should bring a change of athletic clothing and shoes.<br />

Specific equipment needs will be discussed during this first practice.<br />

Thursday, <strong>September</strong> 9 Rosh Hashanah – No <strong>School</strong><br />

Wednesday, <strong>September</strong> 15 8th Grade Parent Meeting<br />

This is an important informational meeting with Head of <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Susie McGee<br />

and <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All eighth-grade parents are asked<br />

to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.


Thursday, <strong>September</strong> 16 <strong>School</strong> Picture Day<br />

Students usually dress up a bit more for their school photos.<br />

Monday, <strong>September</strong> 20 6th Grade Parent Meeting<br />

This is an important informational meeting with Head of <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Susie McGee<br />

and <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All sixth-grade parents are asked<br />

to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.<br />

Tuesday, <strong>September</strong> 21 7th Grade Parent Meeting<br />

This is an important informational meeting with Head of <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Susie McGee<br />

and <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Dean of Students Clinton Howarth. All seventh-grade parents are<br />

asked to attend from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Rivera Recital Hall, Bradley Hall.<br />

Thursday, <strong>September</strong> 30 <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Mini <strong>School</strong><br />

Mini <strong>School</strong> runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is an opportunity for parents to learn<br />

more about the <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> program. Parents will follow their child’s class schedule.<br />

This is an important evening for parents as it provides first-hand information about the<br />

<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> curriculum and the opportunity to meet all of their child’s teachers.<br />

Because of the early start a light supper is provided.<br />

Parent Conferences<br />

NO classes on Thursday, October 28<br />

<strong>The</strong> Parent Conferences provide an opportunity for parents of sixth, seventh and new<br />

eighth-grade students to meet with all of their child’s teachers. Parents of returning<br />

eighth-grade students meet with their child’s advisor. Because the scheduling of<br />

conferences is very complex, we are not able to honor requests for specific days or times.<br />

You will receive your parent conference time in late <strong>September</strong>.
