General Assembly of the PCA Pray for the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America June 19–22 in Louisville, KY. Pastors Michael Rogers and Tucker York and elders Jeb Bland, Robert Hayward and Rob Spykstra will attend. Vacation Bible School The one and only Olympion VBS all-staff meeting will be Tuesday, July 10, 7 PM in the Reformation room. During the first half of the meeting, important information will be given for all VBS workers. In the second half, team leaders meet with helpers for planning. Please make it a priority to attend. RSVP to Mary Jo Rader. Join God’s team and follow Joshua’s example of whole-hearted obedience to God! Olympion Vacation Bible School is July 30–August 2. God has provided all of the teachers (coaches), but we still need many volunteers in all areas. Please pray about how you can serve and then fill out a volunteer card at the registration counter. Classes are filling up fast. Please help us by pre-registering your children (athletes) now on the website www.westpca.com or pick up a form at the registration counter. Staff must register infants through 4 year olds. Contact Mary Jo Rader (email or call 569.2151) with any questions you may have. Missions and Outreach Clothing collection is next Sunday, June 24, and the last Sunday of each month. Especially needed: umbrellas, rain slickers and children’s shoes (all ages). Water Street Ministries picks up your gently used, clean clothes Thursday AM, June 28. There is a four-day window for you to donate. DONATIONS ANY OTHER TIME WILL BE DISCARDED. NOTE: At all times, a blue tub for deposits of new underwear and sox for all ages is provided. If you can volunteer at Water Street’s clothing ministry, contact Connie O’Connor (661.7550) or Shelley Armstrong (393.1231). Your food bank donations help many people! Current needs: canned tuna and meats, paper products, personal care items and baking supplies. At this time items not needed are canned soup and vegetables. Please note: All foodstuffs should be in original containers with original labels intact. Also, badly dented containers or packages already opened are not acceptable. Please observe expiration dates on labels. Donate anytime the church is open, placed at the food cupboard. Pick up an orange sheet with suggestions from the window sill. Missionary Prayer Requests are available at the kiosk across from the registration counter. Use this handy reminder to pray regularly for missions/missionaries’ current requests. Pray for Gene and LuAnn Bowman. They complete their work in August as team leaders of BEAMM along the US/Mexico border. Their home missionary assignment begins in September, using that time to determine their next step in ministry with Mission to the World (MTW). Pray with them that God continues to establish his church along the border. Short-Term Missions Support our short-term mission teams! Respond to your letter with committed prayer and/ or giving. Do not miss an opportunity to encourage those reaching out this summer. A shortterm missions list is available at the kiosk, or tell us on your blue slip that you need a letter mailed to you. Until June 23. Ivy Espenshade trains with Christian Youth in Action through Child Evangelism Fellowship. Drew Brackbill will serve his fifth summer with CEF. Until August 10, they both will bring the gospel of Jesus to children all over Lancaster County through camps and 5-Day Clubs. Until June 28. Devan Butterworth ministers in health clinics in Mozambique, Africa. June 18–July 29. Jenny Florio has an internship with MTW to Japan. June 25–July 14. Jenna Melton and Jordan Melton serve in Costa Rica with Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America. June 27–30. Kingdom Builders is designed to introduce junior high youth to short-term missions at the local level. There are opportunities to put their faith into action by engaging in local service projects. Kingdom Builders team will be formalized later in June. Note: Later short-term trips will be announced as space allows.
Hear a Sermon Again! A full selection of sermon CDs are available for a $1.50 donation each (3 CDs for $4) at the kiosk across from the big registration counter. Ten week’s stock is replenished as CDs are depleted. If what you want is not there, check for it later. Request back copies, Lenten series, or guest speakers on the white slip at the CD self-serve rack. Please, no blue slip requests. Audio sermons from Westminster morning and evening services are available at our website: www.westpca.com. Click on the sermons & media tab, then audio sermons. Just click to listen. Pick up an application from the Youth Education mailbox in the office lobby or obtain one by emailing Paul Rogers. Application deadline is TODAY. Place in the Youth Education mailbox. Junior high Bible studies meet most Tuesdays from 1–2 PM in the youth rooms, except June 19 and July 31. They next meet June 26. Joseph leads a study based on Thoughts for Young Men by J.C.
