ON CALL MEDICAL SERVICES continued:<br />
Doctors making home visits do not normally dispense<br />
medications, but will <strong>of</strong>ten administer injections on the<br />
spot if needed.<br />
• Prescriptions for medications can be filled out at your local<br />
“pharmacie” or “pharmacie de garde” after hours.<br />
• The pharmacies in your neighborhood take turns for dispensing<br />
medications after hours in case <strong>of</strong> emergencies. ( The rotation is<br />
posted on the doors <strong>of</strong> the pharmacies. Your local police<br />
department also has the list.<br />
• Laboratory tests or x-rays can be performed at local “laboratoire”<br />
and “radiologie” centers.<br />
