I have the great pleasure of observing our faculty daily and I know that theyare every bit deserving of our praise. Your children work with professionals who are dedicated, knowledgeableand compassionate and who deliver a top quality educational program in a very supportiveway. I want to thank all those who contributed to the luncheon and, as the year draws to a close, encourageyou to take a moment to personally acknowledge those teachers who have been most influentialto your children during their time at ASP. It means much to teachers to know that they made adifference.- Aaron Hubbard, ahubbard@asparis.fr; 01 4112 8285AP/IB News from the Academic DeanThe AP/IB exam period has begun! First and foremost have all your activities loggedonto your page, with the appropriate learning outcomes checked off. Remember that a successful CAS program encompassesall of the 8 learning outcomes. Once you’ve done that and I have approved the activities, start working onyour activities and don’t forget to journal! Journal entries should not be descriptive and should link to your learning outcomes.Typically your first journal entry should be about your goals for this activity and what you hope to achieve. Thefollowing journal entries should always re-evaluate whether or not you are moving towards these goals or if you need tore-assess them. Hopefully your goals also match some of the learning outcomes! If you are done with an activity, you canstart working on the CAS questions for that activity. Don’t leave those for the last minute as the amount of work can beoverwhelming. ALSO please don’t wait until March 2012 to ask for a supervisor evaluation. Supervisors are as mobile asy o u a r e a n d m i g h t e n d u p m o v i n g w i t h o u t l e a v i n g a f o r w a r d i n g a d d r e s s .Et voila,If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to email me/post/or come and see me.- Sandy Karam, 11th Grade Counselor, IB CAS Coordinator, skaram@asparis.fr; 01 4112 8298
