Parents Survey: Building a New Upper <strong>School</strong> LibraryPart <strong>of</strong> the new school project includes the design and construction <strong>of</strong> a library for the Upper <strong>School</strong>. We are now starting to collectfeedback and need your input to help us answer this question: What is a 21st-century library for ASP?The parents survey is the first <strong>of</strong> four versions aimed at different user groups. The link is posted on the welcome page <strong>of</strong> TheHub!, the library web site accessible via Poodle. Or you can follow this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/aspparentsWe hope you’ll take some time to reflect and answer the survey.Feel free to contact Mario Chioini for details at mchioini@asparis.frIndia Service Trip: Jyoti <strong>School</strong> Donation DriveBeginning <strong>March</strong> 8th, fourteen ASP students will travel to Rishikesh, India where theywill spend a week volunteering at the Jyoti <strong>School</strong> for Special Children. This school serveslocal children with mental and physical challenges including severe autism, mentalretardation and hearing impairment. ASP students are currently collecting school suppliesand toys that will be delivered to the school and distributed to its 113 students.The Jyoti <strong>School</strong> was established in 1993. ASP began working with the Jyoti <strong>School</strong> since1998, providing support, yet honoring the hard work <strong>of</strong> Jyoti school teachers and leaders.Our goal is to be able to present each studentwith one toy and one school supply at the end<strong>of</strong> our visit. <strong>School</strong> supplies may include: Pens,markers, crayons, paper, scissors, pencil bags, calculators,stickers, and notebooks. Toy or Games may include stuffed animals and otheritems that do not require batteries. Children at the school range in age from 6 to 18years. We are in particular need <strong>of</strong> toys and school supplies for teenage students.ASP students will also be delivering supplies to the nearby Laxman Jhula Medical Center.This center provides comfort and support to local community members who suffer fromleprosy, AIDS, cancer and other severe medical conditions. If you would like to donateany medical supplies, they are in particular need <strong>of</strong>: First Aid kits, plastic gloves and bandages.Collection boxes are available in the Upper <strong>School</strong> hallway. We welcome donations through <strong>March</strong> 5th.Thank you for your consideration and support.
