Program Mission<br />
The <strong>Master</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> <strong>in</strong> Diplomacy program provides a unique<br />
and relevant contribution <strong>to</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational relations. Mature<br />
<strong>in</strong>dividuals from diverse backgrounds can acquire <strong>the</strong><br />
conceptual and <strong>the</strong>oretical background and <strong>the</strong> skills <strong>to</strong> help<br />
<strong>the</strong>m perform effectively at senior and policy formation<br />
levels <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> military and government and <strong>in</strong> a multitude <strong>of</strong><br />
capacities throughout private <strong>in</strong>dustry. Students explore<br />
foundational and contemporary <strong>the</strong>ory and practice at<br />
systemic levels and exam<strong>in</strong>e specific issues from a variety<br />
<strong>of</strong> perspectives. The program is designed <strong>to</strong> help graduates<br />
demonstrate skills <strong>in</strong> research and <strong>in</strong>formation literacy,<br />
critical th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g, writ<strong>in</strong>g and oral communications.<br />

Curriculum<br />
Overview<br />
The diplomacy program is made up <strong>of</strong> six, six-credit courses for a<br />
<strong>to</strong>tal <strong>of</strong> 36 credits. Each course is approximately 11 weeks <strong>in</strong> length.<br />
The program is designed so you can complete <strong>the</strong> course work <strong>in</strong> as<br />
few as 18 months. The program ends with a one-week residency and<br />
graduation ceremony at <strong>Norwich</strong> University <strong>in</strong> June. The program<br />
<strong>of</strong>fers four start dates per year: March, June, September and<br />
December.<br />
Our curriculum explores <strong>in</strong>ternational relations from a macro and micro perspective, beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g with<br />
a foundational exam<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> political, cultural, and geographical complexity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
environment. Students <strong>the</strong>n apply <strong>the</strong>ir holistic understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> global affairs <strong>to</strong> develop focused<br />
knowledge <strong>in</strong> one <strong>of</strong> three concentrations: <strong>in</strong>ternational terrorism, <strong>in</strong>ternational conflict management,<br />
or <strong>in</strong>ternational commerce.<br />
