With National Public Health Week just<br />

around the corner, the Marion County<br />

Health Department (MCHD) will be<br />

showcasing what public health looks like<br />

in our area and celebrating community<br />

members participating in public health<br />

with a photojournalism project and trivia<br />

contest.<br />

Health Educators from MCHD<br />

Prevention Services, equipped with<br />

cameras, have been roaming the county to<br />

find examples of everyday people engaged<br />

in everyday activities reflecting public<br />

health in action all around us. During the<br />

week of April 1-7, these photos will be<br />

posted on the official MCHD Facebook<br />

and Twitter pages at various times each<br />

day based on a daily theme.<br />

National Public Health Week (NPHW)<br />

is observed in communities across the<br />

United States during the first full week<br />

of April every year. <strong>The</strong> theme for this<br />

year’s event, National Public Health<br />

Week is ROI: Save Lives, Save Money,<br />

raises awareness of the value of public<br />

health and prevention in our community.<br />
