Jerold Ashby and the Ashby Family would like to thank Local Union 798 and all the Brothers and Sisters who make it possible to receive a little help when in need. And to those who review those requests, thank you for your compassion and care. The Family of Howard R. Johnson write to say thank you so much for the burial expense benefit check from the U.A. The money really came in handy, and was used for flowers, a beautiful headstone, and other funeral expenses. They will also treasure the beautiful Bible, and appreciate your thoughtfulness and support during their time of sorrow. Charlie & Sue Garrett want to thank you for the Voluntary Fund help when it was needed, and for the prayers, flowers, and support of the many members and friends when tragedy happens. Special thanks to John Sandstrom, Jr., Rick Taylor, Danny Hendrix, and David Barnett. Barbara and Stanley Chapman greatly appreciate the financial assistance they received from the Voluntary Fund following his double knee replacement surgery. They would like to thank everyone who contributes to the fund each week, and send a special thank you to Darrell Turner and Dana Scott. Carolyn and Becky Weyant, and Barbara, Danny, Daniel and John Davis send thanks for the beautiful Bible sent at Ross’ going home. He was always proud to be a 798 member, and would praise Unions and their members whenever the occasion would arise. He always said everything they own was due to 798. Thanks also to all the 798 members in Clendenin, WV who came to the gravesite rites. Dennis Stiles would like to extend his deepest appreciation to the 798 members for their support during a recent family emergency. Special thanks to Chad Gilbert and Jordan Lindsey for their concern on his behalf. He was truly overwhelmed. Eric S. Bundy & Family would like to thank those who helped them during a rough time in their lives. You are greatly appreciated. Jerry Augustine writes that he has been in Local 798 for 32 years. It is a good thing knowing that each one of us care about each other. Even in the good times and bad, we are a family. He had surgery on his right foot, and the doctor said he would be down three months. Within one week, he had help from the Voluntary Fund. He appreciates it more than he can say. Special thanks go to Phillip Wallace. Thanks so very much. The Families of Maxwell Burdge and Gale Swartz would like to thank all the Brothers and Sisters of Local Union 798 and Local Union 420 for the expression of sympathy show to them at the passing of their father, Barry M. Burdge. A special thank you to Charlie Garrett for his understanding and consideration during that time. May God bless each and every one of you. Sandi Joiner (George Joiner’s Widow) says thanks for the extra check, the first COL raise in 8 years, and the insurance. Thanks to Rick Taylor for his concern during Jim’s illness and death. The family really appreciates the thoughtfulness of the members of Local 798. Jeffree L. Wyatt wants to thank everyone for their assistance and donation. He received it during a very hard time. It helped him get the medical help that he needed during the holiday season. It was a great blessing to him and his family. He is proud to be a member of 798, and is glad to have so many good friends in the Union. Thank you again for all of your support. Don Foster would like to thank the Voluntary Fund and all who contribute for the monetary help he received after his shoulder surgery. A special thank you to Jeff Doyle and Joe Berry. Brian and Tonya Baxter send their heartfelt thanks to their Brothers and Sisters of Local 798 that give to the Voluntary Fund each week. Their daughter Miranda had to have emergency surgery to remove a large tumor from her jaw, and they lost their home to a fire while working on a job for Michels in Spencer, SD. They had to leave the job and go home. They want to give a special thank you to Mike Green, Ronnie and Michelle Hill and Harold Daniel. Thank you from the bottom of their hearts. Ryan Roberts thanks all of the Brothers and Sisters who have made the Voluntary Fund possible to help each other in times of need. His family really appreciates the support of Local 798 in a time when an unexpected injury had occurred. He is a proud member of Local 798, along with other family members. He has enjoyed the people he has met through the years while a member. He has a family of 6, and the money he received from the Voluntary Fund meant a lot to him, his wife, and family. He has been laid off for 4 months now and looks forward to returning to work. Thanks again to the members who understand what the Voluntary Fund means to families when it is needed most. Kevin Leeper would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during his recent illness. People outside the Union don’t understand that our greatest asset is not benefits and conditions – it is the “family” we inherit. Thank You. Wayne & Kathy Morgan wish to thank the Voluntary Fund for the check they received. It was greatly appreciated. Wayne is healing very slowly after colon surgery. They enjoy belonging to an organization that takes care of its members in such a generous way. Wishing you all a great year in 2010. May God bless you all. Bob, Leslie, Emily & Shelley Fatherree write that words cannot express their appreciation for all that’s been done to help Bob with his recovery! The flood of blood donations, help from the Voluntary Fund, and prayers from everyone have all been a huge help. They are blessed to have your love and support. Johnnie & Cathy Feeler want to thank everyone for the cards, prayers, and donations they received after Cathy broke both of her legs (it’s a long story) while they were on the Price Gregory job in MO last year. Thanks to Rodger Hastings and a very special thanks to Franky & Sherry Craddick for helping with their truck and trailer. Pipeliners are a special breed, and he is honored to be one. Anyone that has ever had chronic back issues and surgery knows “It ain’t no picnic!” Pipeliners really are the finest folks in the world! Randy and Michelle Plants thank you for the financial support you sent to them. It couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s great to know the money they put in the Voluntary Fund is truly put to good use. Thanks to all who support it. Randy never thought a broken wrist would keep him from working for so long. But over two years and three surgeries later, it still doesn’t work properly. Hopefully the year 2010 will bring better fortune for everyone. Mr. & Mrs. Tim Beckham would like to thank everyone in the 798 family who has given to the Voluntary Fund. To his Brothers and sisters who give unselfishly, they thank you. Tim had been home from the Ohio spread only a week when his wreck occurred. Your generous help in this difficult time was an answer to prayers. Lance S. Herren appreciates the check that you sent to him following his accident. He would like to thank each and every one of the people who contribute to the fund. The money really came in handy for all his expenses. Thanks again! J.P. Reed would like to say thanks for your concern with his health, and also for the letter. Without your contributions, his situation would have definitely been harder to endure. His appreciation extends farther than you can imagine, from everyone at the office in Tulsa, to all the Brothers and Sisters in the field making their mark on the pipeline world. with all the inspiration that he has received from this fraternity, he hasn’t felt left out or alone in his pain. There are not many days that go by without the inspiration of a phone call or visit from his brethren telling him to keep his chin up and keep digging. For those people, a special thanks is due because those people are the ones that make this fraternity such a privilege to be a part of. The Family of Merwyn “Pete” Dobbs want to thank each and every one who contributes to the Voluntary Fund. Some of the older members will remember him. He lived, ate, slept, and dreamed about the many miles of pipeline and his friends he had from all the years he worked. Even non-pipeliners enjoyed hearing stories about the jobs after he retired. A special thank you to Darrell Turner, J.D. Williams, Bo Scarbrough. Also, thanks to their sons Petey, and Dan and his wife Roxie, and Tina Diem. Thank you and please keep them in your prayers. Kenneth Pentlicki would like take this time to thank everyone in 798 for your help through the Voluntary fund. He has had two neck surgeries within 2 years. Most of all he wants to thank Bud Mathis, Scott Stacy, Carl Traweek, and everyone else at Bud’s Welding for all of your help over the last 2 years! He is very proud to be a 798 member. Thank you very much. Edith Hanes writes to say thank you so much for the 13th check received in 2009. It was truly appreciated. Thank you for thinking of the retirees. Wendell Derrick wants to thank all the members who give so freely to the Voluntary Fund for the assistance during and following his father, Jack Derrick’s fight with cancer. He was a loyal supporter of the Voluntary Fund and this Lcoal Union. Also, he would like to send a special thanks to Robert & Julie Doane for their cards, prayers, and friendship, as well as Joe Dean Dickerson and all the hands on the U.S. Pipeline job in Bemidji, MN. Also a very special thanks to Danny & David for continuing a great tradition that defines the integrity and compassion of our great Local Union. Morgan Hubble would like to thank you for the letter sent to her father Kevin, and also the Voluntary Fund check. It was very thoughtful and will help out a lot. It was a scary situation that she went through but it really opened up her eyes to life. She was very glad she was okay, because from the looks of the car, she was very lucky to be alive. Once again, she would like to thank you for what you have done because in the days that we are living in now, not many people would have done so. You are very special people and once again she thanks you from the bottom of her heart. John Mullens & Family sends thanks to the Voluntary Fund and all the members who contribute to the fund for the help received at the time of their loss. A special thanks to all of Spread 6 of the Alberta Clipper. Kevin Hubble writes that on November 16, 2009, his daughter Morgan was involved in an auto accident. As a result of this accident, she rolled her car twice, not only escaping death but also any serious injuries. Besides being thankful Morgan was alive, he was also thankful that his family was there, including his extended family at Local 798. The assistance provided by the Voluntary Fund and all of the members who contribute to it was greatly appreciated, and will never be forgotten. James “Bud” Cosper wants to say thank you for the 13th check and raise. It is greatly appreciated. Holland and Bobbie McHam would like to thank everyone for the gift received from the Voluntary Fund. The check has come in handy since his illness. Your generosity was heartwarming. They feel so blessed to be a part of the 798 family. May God bless you all. Thanks again. Mike “Cotton” and DeAnna Alden thank all of their Brothers and Sisters who contribute to the Voluntary Fund. Being a 798 member is more than a title or occupation. It is a family. In a time of need, you really start to realize just how big of a family we are. Again, they would like to say thanks for all the phone calls, and especially everyone’s prayers. A special thanks to Roger Wheeler and J.C. Thornburg for helping his family get him home. Billy and Carolyn Hipps wish to say thank you to all who give to the Voluntary Fund. They appreciate the help received after Billy underwent back surgery in December. He is doing really well now. A special thanks to Mike Miller and Randy Martin. They won’t forget your kindness. Kenneth & JoAnn Springer express their great gratitude and say thank you for the help from the Voluntary Fund while Ken was in the hospital. It will help for the time off and the days spent in the hospital. They are grateful for the help given by the Brothers and Sisters of the Local. They are still waiting to see the heart doctor on the 17th of February. Kenneth is doing well, and his spirits are high for the most part. Again, thank you so much for the help, it is greatly appreciated.
