UPLIFT SPECIAL EVENTS
GYUTO MONKS OF TIBET RETURN FOR UPLIFT 2014
The Gyoto Monks are the Dalai Lama’s tantric masters visiting Australia from their monastery in Dharamsala,
India. They are the living embodiment of pure human affection & compassion in action, and offer to all who
come in contact with them a positive experience of love, happiness and hope.
The monks will work daily to create the Sand Mandala of Chakrasamvara – known as the Mother Mandala of female energy; and
will offer their deep harmonic chanting sessions, unique meditation and uplifting public talks. Led by Gyuto elder Gen Lama
Thupten Phuntsok, 76 yrs old who escaped from Tibet in 1959, the group of six monks are tantric masters holding the pure
transmissions of the tantric arts including the art of the sand mandala, butter sculpture, harmonic chanting and ritual ceremony.
This 600 year old tradition is vital to the future of Tibetan Buddhism and thus the monks travel to the west to reveal this precious
legacy and to seek support for its survival.Masters of ritual and ceremony, the monks will also be available throughout the
festival to perform Personal Pujas on request.
SPIRITS FOR SALE
Western spiritualists often adopt
indigenous religions from around
the world for their enlightenment,
but are they truly respecting the
sacred protocols and traditions?
Beautifully crafted and filmed,
‘Spirits for Sale’ explores both sides
of this important question.
The Kogi are the last surviving
civilization from the world of the
Inca and Aztec, and their cities are
untouched by our world. The Kogi are
profoundly frightened by what we are
doing to the world, but also well aware
that we have no understanding of the
forces which we are unleashing. They
believe that the only hope of survival
for mankind is if we can learn why they
are so scared, and they know that we
will only believe what we can see.
Is tourism destroying the world–or
saving it? From the Bolivian jungle
to the party beaches of Thailand,
and from the deserts of Timbuktu,
Mali to the breathtaking beauty of
Bhutan, GRINGO TRAILS shows the
unanticipated impact of tourism
on cultures, economies, and the
environment, tracing some stories
over 30 years.
LIVING KANYINI
Elder Bob Randall shares ancient
answers for our troubled times, in
intimate conversation with well
known international author, mystic
and spiritual teacher, Andrew Harvey.
Kanyini or unconditional love
with responsibility, is a system of
connection with everything, anchored
in the timeless wisdom of the Anangu
of the Central Desert area of Australia.
The teachings of Kanyini have the
potential to transform our planet and
bring a return to true oneness with
nature and each other.
