2007 marks 20 years in the recording and 

touring career of the Barra MacNeils. 

To celebrate this, the group is releasing a 

20th Anniversary CD that covers the span of 

the Barra MacNeils’ entire career. The album 

features essential recordings from various 

releases over the years, plus a new track, 

‘Chasing The Sun’, that was co-written with 

Grammy Award winner Gordie Sampson. 

To further commemorate the career 

milestone, the group will be touring theatres 

and festivals in Canada, America, and 

overseas extensively throughout 2007 and 

2008. Both the CD and the live performances 

are sure to be a hit with fans old and new. 

As a group, the six MacNeil siblings are 

widely regarded as one of the greatest live 

Celtic music acts. Hailing from Sydney Mines,

Darren was a member of the Australian 

mega pop duo, Savage Garden. Between the 

four albums that Darren has released (two 

with Savage Garden, and two solo), he has 

sold over 25 million records. He broke his 

own record with the single “I Knew I Loved 

You”, as most played track on adult 

contemporary U.S. radio (the previous record 

holder was Savage Garden’s “Truly, Madly, 

Deeply”) He recently made history by selling 

out a show at NYC’s Joe’s Pub in less than 

10 minutes. He is the third most popular 

Australian music artist of all time. (Only INXS 

and Kylie Minogue trump Hayes.) 

This Delicate Thing We’ve Made is Darren’s 

third solo album, and the first release on his 

own record label, Powdered Sugar. It is a 

daring, theatrical, wounded, wise, and 

wonderful epiphany that showcases his 

maturation as an artist. Although not a 

concept album, the double album covers the 

emotional journey of Hayes’ life. The

From the vaults of the award-winning 

PBS “Austin City Limits” TV show, this 

is the latest release in the acclaimed 

“Live From Austin, Texas” series. 

Through all the years of Austin City 

Limits, there probably has never been 

a night quite like this. From the 

opening processional through the 

crowd, through the harp solos, cymbal 

crashes, and rousing choruses, the 

many members of Polyphonic Spree 

(all wearing floor-length choir robes of 

every colour) lifted the show to new 

heights on that sultry night in August 

2004. It all began four years earlier, in 

the head of Dallas Punk rocker, Tim 

DeLaughter, but not even he knew 

where his imagination would take him. 

“From the very beginning my idea of 

this band was a vision of sound, and 

what’s come out of it is much more 

spectacular and dramatic.” When Tim 

was in his rock band, Tripping Daisy, 

he was in the studio thinking: “Gosh, I 

wish I had a flute for this part”, or 

“Man, it would be really cool to use a 

harp in this section.” One thing leads to 

another, as they say, and Tim’s wishful 

thinking led to a 24-member ensemble 

combining great musicianship with 

improvisation. The live shows are a 

visual spectacle that projects an 

infectious joy, majesty, and optimism. 

This is a live recording from August 3, 

2004. It is mixed in 5.1 surround 

sound, includes the band’s best loved 

songs, and tracks that were never 

aired on the original TV broadcast.

Qui was founded in 2000 by 

drummer/vocalist Paul Christensen and 

guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk in Los 

Angeles, CA. Since debuting in LA in early 

2001 and the release of their first full-length 

album, Baby Kisses, (Heart of a Champion) 

in 2003, they have maintained a prodigious 

pace of both local performances and 

national tours. Their idiosyncratic blend of 

punk, noise, metal and experimental 

genres, coupled with their advanced 

musical prowess, earned them a small but 

dedicated following throughout the U.S. 

In late 2006, vocalist David Yow of The 

Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid fame joined Qui. 

Shortly thereafter, the trio released the

Teresa Ennis has been living in Nova 

Scotia for four years. “Space” is Teresa’s solo 

debut, and she is also in a band with her sisters 

called The Ennis Sisters. 

Since the summer of 2006, Teresa has 

been recording songs just for fun. Now, with 12 

songs completed, she is releasing the results on 

her solo debut. 

The album, which was produced with her 

good friend Joel Hunt, features versions of new and 

old songs that Teresa heard while hanging out with 

friends, and was inspired by. "We would hear a 

tune on the radio, or a favorite song on the CD 

player", says Teresa, "and someone's ears would 

perk-up... 'we ought to give that one a go'". The 

album was recorded in the living room of Joel's 

rural Nova Scotia home. Tracks were recorded 

between kayaking on the lake, cooking meals, and 

watching Hockey Night in Canada. Listen closely 

and you can hear crickets from an open window, a 

fire cracking in the stove, and the dogs clicking 

across a wooden floor. 

"Space" features some songs you might 

remember - from an upbeat bluegrassy take on the 

Electric Light Orchestra's 1975 hit, "Can't Get It Out 

of My Head" to a spirited cover of Bruce Cockburn's 

"Going To The Country" as well as an original tune by 

Teresa, "Under The Moon", and Joel's song, "Space". 

Teresa's lead and backing vocals are at their most 

beautiful on the folk standard "I've Endured", and her 

playful harmonies highlight Pete Townshend's "Blue 

Red and Grey". 

Also included are songs originally written 

and recorded by: Jackson Browne, "Song For Adam", 

Supertramp's "Downstream", The Eagles' "Train 

Leaves Here", Ronnie Lane's "Annie", Gary Scruggs' 

"Lowlands", and a French Acadian ballad by Ron 

Bourgeois, "Ma Jolie".

from X-Press Two. It’s an exciting mix of

Roman of Radio 4, Rob Harvey of

The first album from X-Press Two was a 

12-inch vinyl, and it was supported so 

ardently by the band’s fans that the 

album shot up the UK charts. The single 

from that record, “Lazy”, reached #2. 

'Makeshift Feelgood' is a stunning record. 

It’s more song-oriented, and features more 

vocal contributions than it's predecessor. 

Frankly, it is more of an album. As Rocky 

puts it, 'the new album has moved from 

only sounding good at three in the morning 

- we'd like to think that it sounds pretty 

good at three in the afternoon too.'

CL Smooth was half of the legendary 

and influential golden era hip-hop duo 

Pete Rock & CL Smooth. He created 

many classic rap anthems of the 90’s, 

including “T.R.O.Y.”, “Straighten It Out”, 

and “Lots of Lovin’”. 

CL has one of the most recognizable 

voices in hip-hop, and now he’s back to 

bless the mic once again. After Pete 

Rock and CL split in 1995, CL Smooth 

remained musically inactive for 10 years, 

appearing on only five tracks with his 

former partner, and declining to work as 

a guest with other artists, with the 

notable exception of “Only The Strong 

Survive” with DJ Krush. Recently, 

however, CL Smooth has contributed 

vocals to songs by AZ and Dipset affiliate 

JR Writer. CL Smooth released he debut 

solo album “American Me” earlier this 

year. This CD, “The Outsider”, is 

considered a companion to that album, 

further showcasing his relevance with 

new tracks, remixes by J Period, 

Drawzilla, and B Rock, plus lives 

versions of some of his 90’s classics. 

Guest vocalists include Butta Verses (De 

La Soul associate), JR Writer, Scales of 

Nappy Roots, and Young Breed. “The 

Outsider” is hosted by So So Def’s Da 

Franchize DJ Shakim of the Heavy Hitters 

and Super Friends DJ Crews. 

With one listen you’ll realize that CL’s 

voice still has the impact it did when it was 

first heard on the “All Souled Out” EP back 

in 1991.

piano virtuoso ADAM MAKOWICZ was 

voted Europe's Number One Jazz Pianist

Storytelling is a universal human instinct. 

Biographies of the recently deceased are the 

saddest form of storytelling that most people will 

ever know. Albums, like the various camera 

angles of the funeral eulogy, are like scenes of a 

movie. Albums are the writer's chance to tell a 

story ten times over, from ten different angles, to 

ten different melodies. 

Eulogies' Peter Walker does just this on the 

band's debut collection. With his voice dipped in 

reverb, he gently reminds us of the pre-histrionic 

honesty of Elvis at Sun Studios. With Chris 

Reynolds' drums pulsating at his back, Tim 

Hutton's typewriter-like bass notes keeping 

things uncomplicated, Walker lays out his ten 

scenes. 

"We're all swimming in the bottles of our own 

accord," he intones in "Can't Relate." Elsewhere, 

in "Under the Knife," he confesses, "pleasure 

comes without control …I’m scared to love what 

death can touch." Another song, “Useless 

Amends” tells a lot in its title alone. 

As in his previous recordings, Walker’s new 

compositions, while not noticeably sombre 

musically, are imbued with an underlying darkness. 

Yet this darkness for him is illuminated as the 

music is created, whether in studio or on stage 

“The themes may be dark, but the end result for 

me – the process – is very bright.”

BLUE is the 6 th release from adam's rib. 

The band began as a concept in the 

basement studio of Derek Lathrop, a talented 

and prolific songwriter, singer, multiinstrumentalist, 

engineer and producer in 

1996. Derek’s ideal was a collective; a 

musical environment where he could play and 

record his music drawing from the multitude 

of musical talents that came into his sphere 

without the attendant baggage and restraints 

of being in a “band”. This is not meant to 

imply that adam’s rib is not intimately familiar 

with “the road”. In fact, adam’s rib spends 

more than half the year performing in 

Canada, the US and Europe. 

Highlights from Blue include the infectious 

reggae-tinged radio single “High”, and funky, 

old school soul groove of “Last”, which were 

both produced by Dan Brodbeck (Holly 

McNarland, Deloris O'Riordan). The album 

also includes “In The End”, which, along with 

“High”, was selected as a finalist for the Toronto 

Radio Station MIX 99.9’s annual song writing 

contest. 

Touring plans for Canada include two weeks in 

Southern Ontario to launch the CD in 

September, followed by a Western Canada tour 

in October. After a very short break the band will 

head east making stops across Ontario, 

Quebec and the Maritimes in November.

As Jodi tells it, “It’s been an amazing

Taking up residence in rural 

Saskatchewan, just three years ago, this 

serious career began. Suddenly, she 

found that she was an award winning 

vocalist, entertainer, songwriter, 

conference speaker, and worship leader. 

She left the city life behind in Medicine 

Hat, Alberta and settled into her new life 

in Lafleche, Saskatchewan.

TICKLAH VS AXELROD is a soundclash between 

two sides of a musical personality: The studio 

wizardry and dub experimentation of Ticklah vs. the 

keyboard prowess and genre restlessness of Victor 

Axelrod. In this case, the battle rages in the head of 

one person: Ticklah and Axelrod are one and the 

same. 

This is his third full-length solo album, following 

“Polydemic” (1997), and “Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions: 

Roots Combination” (2001). Beyond these critically 

acclaimed releases, Ticklah has had an impact on 

a number of important groups and records. He is a 

founding member of the Easy Star All-Stars. For 

that group he co-produced and played keyboards 

on “Dub Side Of The Moon” and contributed to the 

follow up, “Radiodread”. He has played keys with 

Antibalas since 1999, co-writing and co-producing 

much of the celebrated Afrobeat band’s output. He 

has also appeared on a number of Mark Ronson 

productions, including tracks with Robbie Williams, 

Lily Allen, and Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” 

album (inc. the mega-hit “Rehab”). In the midst of 

all these projects he kept coming back to his 

personal labour of love: finishing this record. 

Ticklah plays many instruments on the record and 

collaborates with some members of Antibalas, the 

Victor Rice Octet, the Easy Star All-Stars, and Dub Is 

A Weapon. Vocals are provided by reggae stars 

Mikey General and Rob Symeonn, Vinia Mojica (De 

La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest), Tamar-Kali (Easy Star 

All-Stars), and Mayra Vega. Two highlights on the 

album are reggae interpretations of Eddie Palmieri 

salsa classics: the ultra-catchy Mi Sonsito and the 

sultry Si Hecho Palante. Ticklah vs Axelrod is a hip 

dub chillout record that defies expectations at every 

turn. It is the epitome of Brooklyn dub underground, a 

scene that has quietly influenced reggae, electronica 

and pop music for the past decade.

Straight out of Italy, Heart Of Sun’s debut 

album is packed full of energy, personality, 

and atmosphere. 

Heart of Sun was formed with the meeting of 

five artistic personalities: five musicians who 

all shared a love for sound research, 

progressive atmospheres, psychedelia, and 

the addictive energy of metal. 

Guitarist Gianluca Ferro came from a 

musical background that included being in 

several metal bands (Arkhé, Fiurach, 

Doomsword and Time Machine). When he 

met Mark Vikar (Power Symphony, Beholder) 

the two musicians were immediately united by 

a strong synergy, and began working 

together. Heart Of Sun was complete with the 

addition of Davide Betelli (Ambermoon, 

Psychörder), drummer Sigfrido Percich 

(Adramelch, Acron, Indastria), and finally 

stellar vocalist, Pino Tozzi. 

After signing a deal with Swiss progressive 

label, Galileo Records, the band returned to the 

studio with new energy, and the debut album 

was completed by the close of 2006.
