SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 2012
The theme of this year’s challenge is STORY LAB
encouraging young readers to search for and share stories.
Pre-registration starts on July 15 th and the challenge runs
from July 21 st to Sep 9 th . Children are asked to read six
books during this period.These may be fact or fiction, poetry
or picture book, anything that is borrowed from the library.
Once the first book has been read they will receive their
STORY LAB folder in which they can place their stickers
which are given after reading every two books. Other items
such as bookmarks will be given as the game progresses.
All those completing the challenge will be presented with a

MESSAGE FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Space was tight in this issue because so much has been going on.
We have tried very hard not to leave anyone out and would like to
apologise for any omissions.
More people are sending community advertisements intended to be
used as full pages. Unfortunately we do not always have the space
for this. Please bear in mind that these free ads should be
readable when reduced to the size of a quarter of an A5 page. We
will use them full size when we can. Please feel free to send a half
A5 page alternative.
