World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2010<br />

On behalf of Chinese <strong>Taipei</strong> Skating Union, the Organizing Committee CTSU has the<br />

honor and pleasure to invite you to participate in the<br />

World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships® 2010<br />

<strong>Taipei</strong> <strong>City</strong>, January 8 th -10 th , 2010<br />

which will be held at the <strong>Taipei</strong> Arena, Chinese <strong>Taipei</strong>.<br />

ENTRIES<br />

Each Member has the right to enter three (3) competitors in the category Ladies individual<br />

all round and three (3) competitors in the category Men individual all round.<br />

Members entering a relay team may enter four (4) competitors in the respective category<br />

(Rule 283) of which a maximum of three (3) may skate in the individual part of the<br />

championships.<br />

GENERAL REGULATIONS<br />

The ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championship 2010 in <strong>Taipei</strong> <strong>City</strong>,<br />

Chinese <strong>Taipei</strong>, will be held in accordance with the 2008 ISU Regulations and relevant ISU<br />

Communications.<br />

All skaters, who belong to an ISU Member, can participate in the Championship.<br />

Registration is valid only if made by the respective country members.<br />

TRACK CONDITIONS<br />

The”<strong>Taipei</strong> Arena” ice rink has an artificial surface of 30 x 60m. Protective padding are<br />

provided according to Rule 280, paragraph 5 and ISU Communication n° 1512. The<br />

standard track of 111.12 m. to the lap, with a curve of 8 m. will be used. Besides this track,<br />

there will be 4 (four) other tracks each 1 m apart from the standard track to preserve good<br />

ice conditions. For all tracks, one finish line will be used and the starting lines for the 500<br />

and 1500 meters will be moved according to the track in use. Seven (7) marking blocks will<br />

be used in the curves. The altitude of the ice rink is 262 m. above sea level.<br />

LIABILITY AND MEDICAL INSURANCE<br />

In accordance with the Rule 119, the ISU, Chinese <strong>Taipei</strong> Skating Union, the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Taipei</strong><br />

and the OC, assume no responsibility for or liability with respect to bodily or personal<br />

injury or property damage incurred in connection with the Championship. Each member<br />

is responsible for insurance coverage for their athletes.<br />

DOPING CONTROL<br />

Anti-Doping test will be carried out in accordance with the valid ISU Anti Doping Code,<br />

TAIPEI CITY2010<br />

(ISU Communications n° 1520, 1546 & 1547 or any further update of these<br />

Communications).<br />

Members participating in the relay competition must use those Skaters that are entered for<br />

the individual competition.<br />

Entries must be sent in writing, using the Official Entry Forms for World Junior Short<br />

Track Speed Skating Championship addressed to:<br />

Preliminary entries must be received by December 8th, 2009 (Rule 295, paragraph 4).<br />

Final Entries must reach the Organizing Committee by letter, fax or electronic mail not<br />

later than January 2nd, 2010 (see Rule 295, paragraph 4).<br />

Entries must be accompanied by the official "ISU Declaration Form” as per Rule 131.<br />

Entries by fax or e-mail must be confirmed by a letter sent out simultaneously to the<br />

Organizers (Rule 115, paragraph 5).<br />

The completed Declaration Form must be signed by the competitors and also by all<br />

officials (including team officials) appointed by the Member serving at an ISU Event<br />

(Assistant Referees, Assistant Competitors Steward, Team Leaders, Coaches, Team<br />

Medical Doctors, Physiotherapists, Team Officials who are requesting accreditation for the<br />

Event).<br />

In case of competitors who are not full of age (under 18), such Declaration must be<br />

co-signed by at least one of the parents or other guardian at law.<br />

Each Entry Form and Declaration Form must be signed by an authorized ISU Member<br />

Representative such as President, General Secretary, Executive Director, CEO (Rule 104,<br />

paragraph 4). For more details please refer to Rules 115, 131, 295 and ISU Communication<br />

No. 1523 or any update of these Communications.<br />

Competitors must be present in <strong>Taipei</strong> <strong>City</strong> at the latest at 18:00 h on Thursday, January<br />

7th, 2010 or the Organizing Committee must received documented proof that the<br />

competitors are in transit and will arrive in due time for the Championships.<br />

Competitors who do not comply with these requirements will be excluded.
