GENERAL INFORMATION:
The TelStrobe is a self-contained, plug-in strobe signal that emits a high intensity flashing light when the telephone rings. It requires
only the power provided by the Public Telephone Network. The strobe is designed for use in single-party (private) lines. It responds
to any ring signal within a frequency range of 20-30Hz and a voltage range of 50-130 VRMS. The TelStrobe produces 1 flash per 1
second ring cycle and has a ringer equivalence of 1.5A.
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
NOTE: All CAUTIONS and WARNINGS are identified by the symbol
. All warnings are printed in bold capital letters.
WARNING: THE TELSTROBE IS NOT TO BE USED AS AN INDOOR VISUAL EVACUATION SIGNAL FOR THE
HEARING IMPAIRED.
MOUNTING INFORMATION:
The TelStrobe is designed for mounting to indoor structures such as walls, partitions or posts. Locate the strobe as desired for
visibility. Note that the special mounting screws supplied with each unit must be spaced in accordance with the keyholes on the back
of the unit; the strobe hangs securely on the screw heads. Connect a standard modular telephone line cord (not supplied) from a spare
telephone jack to the jack on the strobe. The cord is typically 7 foot in length with a modular plug to mate with an RJ-11C jack in the
USA or a CA-11 jack in Canada. If a spare telephone jack is not available a "T" adaptor can be used. The TelStrobe is now ready to
operate. Test the installation by having someone ring your number to make sure that the strobe flashes properly.
CAUTION: These devices are not intended for use in hazardous locations as defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and
by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
