Thank you to Community Christian<br />
Church for their hard work and incredibly<br />
generous donation of $6,468 from<br />
the Holiday Extravaganza they held<br />
in November. Thank you also to Avon<br />
and Charla Harrison for holding a<br />
fundraiser that raised $145 for our<br />
program. Thanks to Hope Lutheran for<br />
selling $616 worth of our pecans at their<br />
Octoberfest. We appreciate Chick-fil-A<br />
for their donation of $123.42 from the<br />
Spirit Day held in October. We are<br />
thankful for Mark McCall Photography’s<br />
donation of $135 and canned<br />
food from their Halloween Photo<br />
Shoot. Thank you to our friends at<br />
Party Plus for donating $500 from their<br />
First Annual Halloween Decorating<br />
Contest. We are grateful to Industrial<br />
Molding for once again raising $2,500<br />
for us through their employee walk.<br />
Many thanks goes to Convergys for<br />
their $1,500 gift in early December.<br />
Thanks also to the South Plains Food<br />
Bank for the senior food boxes sent to<br />
350 of our clients. Our gratitude also<br />
goes to Home Instead Senior Care<br />
and all the individuals who supported<br />
the Santa to a Senior project that<br />
benefited 267 of our clients. A big thank<br />
you goes to Pets Plus for collecting<br />
over 1,200 pounds of food and over<br />
100 treat bags for our Pet Program<br />
throughout the entire month of December.<br />

70 cans of food from the 1st Annual<br />
Holiday Portrait Gives Back. Thank<br />
you also to the Texas Tech Men’s<br />
Basketball team for delivering meals in<br />
December. Also, thanks to 8th grader<br />
Carolyn Benitez who held a month<br />
long pet food drive to collect food for our<br />
Pet Food Program as her 4H project at<br />
Frenship Middle School. We also owe a<br />
huge thank you to all of the volunteers<br />
who not only delivered the hot meals<br />
but all of the extra items for the 12 Days<br />
of Christmas, the senior food boxes, and<br />
other various donations of gifts and food.<br />
These are excellent examples of what<br />
small groups of people can accomplish<br />
when they work together. If you have<br />
a group that would like to make a<br />
difference this year, please keep <strong>Lubbock</strong><br />
<strong>Meals</strong> on <strong>Wheels</strong> in mind.<br />

The twenty-first annual “Feed a Friend – It’s<br />
as Easy as Pie” fundraiser was held the week<br />
before Thanksgiving, raising a shocking, record<br />
breaking $70,395.19! A special thank you to<br />
our “pie angel”, Genia Davis, for generously<br />
donating to the event once again filling the<br />
void left by the passing of our previous pie<br />
angel, Donald Finkner. Thank you very much<br />
to United Supermarkets, KLBK, KAMC, and<br />
Sara Lee for their help in making this fundraiser<br />
possible. Congratulations to Adrian Jimenez<br />
of Amigos United who won the pie eating<br />
contest that kicked off the Easy as Pie event.<br />

to Travis Chaney and his employees at<br />
the 50th & Q United for having the largest<br />
increase in donations for the event. Finally,<br />
thanks to all the radio stations that promoted<br />
the fundraiser and to the massive number of<br />
volunteers, store checkers, and donors who so<br />
generously supported the event. This was the<br />
most successful Easy as Pie in our history, and<br />
we thank you for making it happen.<br />
