A Different Way to Support JLL

The Junior League of Lubbock,
Inc. Foundation was established to provide
funding to support the Junior League of Lubbock,
Inc. Supporting the foundation is another great
way to give back to the League, and in turn, the
community. The Foundation operates two funds,
the Endowment Fund and the Headquarters Fund.
The Endowment Fund was created to provide
support to community projects adopted by the
Junior League of Lubbock, Inc. This fund can help
the League in funding our community projects
in case of emergencies or budget shortfalls. This
fund could be very helpful if the League realized
we needed more funds to support our current
community projects.
The Headquarters Fund was created to provide
spending for capital improvements, furnishings and
maintenance of the facilities of the Junior League
of Lubbock, Inc. If our Headquarters was in need
give
of general maintenance or necessary upgrades,
then this fund could provide this to the League’s
The Training committee has spent
the last several months preparing “Back to the
Basics” JLL refresher courses to our members
during our monthly general meetings.
With the help of our guest star host, Linda “Leno,”
we have been busy helping our members sharpen
up their JLL skills.
During the September general meeting, we went
“JLL Walking” with Linda “Leno” and asked members
questions such as: When was the JLL organized
When did the JLL become a member of AJLI
Training

Foundation and Training
Headquarters, rather than having
to use the League’s budgeted
funds that could be used for our community
projects.
Both of these funds must reach $250,000 before
the earnings can be used for the specified needs.
Neither fund has met this goal yet, which is why it
is important for us to attempt to reach our goals to
plan for our League’s financial future.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors is made of
Actives, Sustainers and community members. The
Board oversees the management of investments
and potential distribution of funds.
These tax-deductible donations will help sustain
our League for future generations and create
security for the League’s financial future. Donations
will be designated to either the Headquarters or
Endowment fund by the donor, member or nonmember,
so please consider donating to the JLL
Foundation.
At the October general meeting,
Linda “Leno” returned and hosted
a game show called “Are You Smarter than a Junior
Leaguer” We had three lovely JLL contestants who
answered challenging questions such as: What is a
not-for-profit-organization What is the Pat S. Moore
Award How many times is the In League published
in a year

Holiday Happening Etiquette was our Back to the
Basics topic during our November General meeting.
