<strong>Ohio</strong> Easements and Rights <strong>of</strong> Way<br />
<strong>Surveyors</strong> deal with easements and rights <strong>of</strong> way virtually<br />
every day, and <strong>the</strong>y are <strong>the</strong> subject <strong>of</strong> a tremendous<br />
amount <strong>of</strong> litigation, so <strong>the</strong>y are <strong>of</strong> great interest to <strong>the</strong><br />
surveying community. This program covers all aspects <strong>of</strong><br />
easements and rights <strong>of</strong> way from <strong>the</strong>ir creation (both<br />
written and unwritten), through topics such as interference<br />
with an easement, maintenance <strong>of</strong> easements, overburdening<br />
easements, how easements differ from licenses,<br />
<strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> recordation, reversionary rights, and <strong>the</strong><br />
many ways in which easements and rights <strong>of</strong> way can be<br />
terminated or extinguished. The program will be tailored<br />
to <strong>Ohio</strong> law and court decisions.<br />

Meridian; Congress <strong>Land</strong>s North <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Old Seven Ranges;<br />
Muskingum River Survey; between <strong>the</strong> Miami Rivers; New<br />
Connecticut or <strong>the</strong> Western Reserve; Congress <strong>Land</strong>s <strong>of</strong><br />
1805 North <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Military Tract, Sufferer’s <strong>Land</strong>s or Fire<br />
<strong>Land</strong>s; <strong>the</strong> Twelve Mile Square Reserve; South <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Baseline<br />
and East <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1st Meridian, South and East; and The<br />
Michigan Meridian Survey.<br />
