The month of January saw not one, but two in-house Southern California residencies by
Foster the People, so we decided to wage a friendly fashion war. The glitchy, synthy,
fully danceable Los Angeles outfit hosted Monday nights down the coast at Detroit Bar
in Costa Mesa, and headed back to their neighborhood spot The Echo for Wednesday
takeovers. Long lines dominated both venues every week with the masses all trying to
get a good look at the rising up-and-comers—here’s a snapshot of the pretty people
who managed to get in the door.
