“Year of Faith” News
Christ as the new man
“The truth is that only in the mystery of the incarnate
word does the mystery of man make on light. For Adam,
the first man, was a figure of Him who was to come,
namely, Christ the Lord. Christ, the final Adam, by the
revelation of the mystery of the Father and his love, fully
reveals to man himself and makes his supreme calling
clear. It is not surprising, then, that in him all the
aforementioned truths find their root and attain their
crown. He who is “the image of the invisible God” (Col.
1:15), is himself the perfect man.
To the sons of Adam restores the divine likeness which
had been disfigured from the first sin onward. Since
human nature as He assumed it was not annulled, by that
very fact it has been raised up to a divine dignity in our
respect too. For by his incarnation the Son of God has
united Himself in some fashion with every man. He
worked with human hands, He thought with a human
mind, acted by human choice, and loved with a human
heart. Born of the Virgin Mary, he has truly been made
one of us, like us in all things except sin.” (The

Church in the Modern World # 22)

The parish office will be closed on as
follows:
December 24 through January 1.
Re-open on January 2, 2013.
Father will have the following days off:
December 26—28 and January 2-4,
2013.
We will not have adoration on
December 27 & 28. We will have
Communion service and Adoration on
January 3 & 4, 2013.
Year End Contributions
Your year end contribution will need to reach the
office no later than December 31st to be
considered for 2012. This may be done by
placing it in the collection basket the weekend of
Dec. 22/23. Postmarked December 31.
Reminder that the office is closed on December
24 through January 1.

Cristo, el Hombre Nuevo
“En realidad, el misterio del hombre no se aclara de
verdad sino en el misterio del Verbo encarnado.
Adán, el primer hombre, era, en efecto figura del que
había de venir (Rom 5,14), Cristo, nuestro Señor, el
nuevo Adán, en la revelación misma del misterio del
Padre y de su amor, pone de manifiesto plenamente
al hombre ante el propio hombre y le descubre la sublimidad
de su vocación. Nada extraño por consiguiente,
que las verdades que anteceden encuentren
en El su fuente y alcancen su coronación.
Imagen de Dios invisible (Col 1, 15 o 2Cor 4, 4), El es
el hombre perfecto que ha restaurado en la descendencia
de Adán la semejanza divina deformada desde
el primer pecado. La naturaleza humana ha sido en El
asumida, no absorbida; por lo mismo, también en
nosotros ha sido elevada la dignidad sin igual. El Hijo
de Dios, por su encarnación, se identifico en cierto
modo con todos los hombres: trabajo con manos de
hombre, reflexiono con inteligencia de hombre, actuó
con voluntad humana y amo con humano corazón.
Nacido de la Virgen María, es verdaderamente
uno de nosotros, semejante en todo a nosotros, excepto
en el pecado.” (Concilio Vaticano II, Constitución
Gadium et Spes #22)

We are in need of someone to cover the
adoration hour of 11pm to 12pm. If you are

Religious Education News:
We are need of substitute teachers for
Religious Education, if you can help please

There will be no Religious Education classes
on December 23 & December 30. Classes
will resume on January 6, 2013.

invited to the NW Catholic Men’s
Conference, February 22-23, 2013 in

Capital Campaign
Saint Catherine's News
SNOW REMOVAL
We are pleased to announce that a total
of $13,880.00 has been pledged by our
parishioners. Fourteen families have
made sacrifices to insure that our
diocesan goals of providing for our
retired priests, supporting our
seminarians, maintaining a Catholic
presence on our college campuses, and
aiding the less fortunate through our
Catholic Charities. As a reward,
$4,080.00 will be returned to St.
Catherine's. Thank you for all of your
pledges. If you haven't yet made your
sacrifice, please obtain a pledge form, fill
it out, and place it in the collection
basket. Our retired priests, seminarians,
college students, those in need, and our
parish will thank you.
Does anyone have a tractor with a snow
plow attached We may need your help
to clear the parish parking lot this
winter. Please contact a Parish
Council member.
