<strong>Cricket</strong> <strong>Tournament</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong><br />

COM PETITION RULES AND GU IDELI NES<br />

1. Each team will have 7 players plus 2 extras.<br />

2. The game will be played in Baseball diamonds.<br />

3. MRI tennis balls will be provided.<br />

4. No person shall play for more than one team in the tournament.<br />

5. A bowler cannot bowl more than 2 over’s in the match.<br />

6. Wicket keeper can bowl.<br />

7. No leg before wicket.<br />

8. Each no ball <strong>and</strong> wide ball will get 1 extra ball.<br />

9. Overthrows will have runs.<br />

10. A team is out when six wickets have fallen i.e. there is no “last man st<strong>and</strong>”.<br />

11. Scoring will be as per the usual rules of cricket.<br />

12. A team failing to observe any of the foregoing rules may be disqualified. The<br />

organizers also reserve the right to disqualify any team for failing to appear<br />

promptly to play. The decision of the organizers will be final in case of any<br />

dispute.<br />

13. The team lists must be submitted to the organizers at least 1 week before the<br />

tournament, <strong>and</strong> changes for the subsequent games must be approved by the<br />

organizers.<br />

14. The game will consist of Seven 6-ball over’s each side, the team scoring the<br />

highest number of runs, irrespective of wickets down, to win. In the event of the<br />

teams scoring an equal number of runs, the run-rate will be used <strong>and</strong> then the<br />

number of wickets lost in the match overall.<br />

15. <strong>Tournament</strong> Coordinators will communicate only with the team captain, team<br />

captain should explain the rules to their team. Team captains are expected to coordinate,<br />

convince <strong>and</strong> control their team members.<br />

16. Teams should be available <strong>and</strong> check with the TACO <strong>Sports</strong> organization at the<br />

location, for their next game or any question. There will be 10-15 minutes gap<br />

between games for each team.<br />

17. Each team gets to play at least 3 games within the group. Knock out round starts<br />

after each team has played their initial 3 games.<br />

18. The match winner will be decided on points (Winner gets 2 points each; loser gets<br />

0 point for each team. Group winners will go to next round (Rounds will be<br />

decided based on number of teams available for next round).<br />

19. Umpires decision is final.<br />

20. The main umpire can overrule leg umpire, in case of confusion.<br />

21. The top 2 teams will be awarded.<br />

23. Admission fee: $85 dollars / Team<br />

NOTE:<br />

1. To participate, please send email to sports@tacosite.com . If interested<br />

to participate, please notify at least 1 week prior to the date of the<br />

tournament.<br />

2. SAFETY - As in any physical sport, there is a risk of injury.<br />

Participants are deemed to acknowledge <strong>and</strong> accept the risks. The<br />

organizers cannot accept any liability for damage or injury to person<br />

or property sustained by any participant or spectator.
