KidsCamp 2013 ... a unique summertime experience for kids! General Program Information Program Eligibility The KidsCamp summer day camp program will accept the enrollment of any child having completed pre-kindergarten through seventh grade as of June, 2013. Program Calendar The KidsCamp summer day camp program will operate five days per week, except during the weeks of Week 1 (week of July 4th) and Week 8 (week of August 19th) during the Summer, 2013. There will be no KidsCamp program on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th. The regular KidsCamp program will start on Monday, July 1st and continue until Wednesday, August 21st. To provide parents with as much planning flexibility as possible, the program has been divided into eight (8) “one-week” modules. Each program module has been developed to be a complete day camp experience in itself, yet a continuum of “new” as well as high-interest repeat activities for children choosing to enroll for several weeks (minimum two consecutive weeks), a month, or the entire season. Program Hours The KidsCamp summer day camp program offers various enrollment options, including: “Full-Time” Full-Day (full-time: Monday - Friday) Summer Program 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (bus transportation available to and from program) “Part-Time” Full-Day (part-time: minimum of 3 days per week) Summer Program 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (bus transportation available to and from program) Extended-Day (available for full-time or part-time enrollments) Summer Program 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. plus ... 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. and/or 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. 1 1 Note: Parents are required to pick-up their child from the KidsCamp extended-day program by the 6 p.m. closing time. A Late “Pick- Up” Fee will be charged for any late pick-up at the rate of $5 for every five (5) minutes. Program Transportation An optional, easy-to-use, and comprehensive transportation network has been established for the KidsCamp summer day camp program. Morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off bus service will be available to most full-day summer program participants. Parents interested in using the transportation service should check the appropriate item under “Transportation Preference” on the reverse side of the Program Registration Form and indicate the bus stop their child uses during the regular school year. If the child does not use school district provided transportation during the regular school year, the parent should contact the KidsCamp office for the “bus stop” nearest their home prior to registration. Bus stops are scheduled to be identical to or “as close as possible” to requested bus stops. All program transportation arrangements will be finalized on Friday, May 31st, and parents registering their child(ren) after this date will need to use already established “bus stops”. No “bus stop” will be customized after this date, regardless of reason. -- continued on reverse side -- 1
Program Snacks and Lunch Parents are encouraged to provide their child with a small morning snack, as well as a bag lunch and afternoon snack if the child is enrolled either in the regular full-day program or the extended-day care program. Snacks and lunches need to be peanut-free (see “Peanut Allergy Policy). “Peanut Allergy” Policy KidsCare of Pennsbury and KidsCamp understand the seriousness of peanut related allergies, and will strive to maintain, but cannot guarantee or insure, a peanut-free KidsCamp environment for the safety and welfare of all of its participants. Towards this goal, KidsCamp activities will be peanut and nut free. In addition, parents are asked not to include peanut related items in their child’s lunch. Children who have peanut related items (i.e. PB&J sandwich, peanut butter crackers, Peanut Chews, Snickers, etc.) in their lunch will be required to sit at a separate “Peanut” lunch table. Parents of children with peanut related allergies are advised that KidsCamp cannot guarantee that its environment will be completely free of peanut related items. By allowing their child(ren) to participate in KidsCamp, parents acknowledge that they have fully read and understand this “Peanut Allergy” Policy, understand that their acceptance of this policy is a condition of their child’s participation in KidsCamp, and further agree and understand that there is no guarantee of a peanut free environment, and they accept all risks inherent therein. Program “Emergency Information Form” All children participating in the KidsCamp summer day camp program will be required to have updated parent, emergency, and pick-up information (see Program Registration Form and Student Emergency Information/Emergency Release/Student “Pick-Up” Authorization Form) on file at all times. These forms must be received no later than Friday, June 7th. No child will be allowed to start KidsCamp unless all of the above forms are completed and on file in the KidsCamp office. It is the responsibility of parents to insure that the KidsCamp office is alerted about special health and medical conditions concerning their child(ren) at the time of registration. Parents are required to complete and sign all signature areas on the Student Emergency Information/Emergency Release/Student “Pick-Up” Authorization Form that will allow staff members to provide first aid to their child, as well as giving permission for the summoning of and subsequent treatment and transport by emergency medical personnel. Parents of participants who have a sensitivity to bee stings will be required to have a school district Medication Dispensing Form completed by their family physician, as well as providing the necessary “pre-measured” dosage of any prescribed medicine, in its original container, according to School District and KidsCamp policy. Program “Discipline Exclusion” Policy Attendance at the KidsCamp summer day camp program is a privilege, and therefore the KidsCamp program and the Pennsbury School District reserve the right to exclude any participant from the program for any behavior, verbal and/or physical, deemed inappropriate by staff members and program officials. In such cases, parents will forfeit any tuition fees paid for the program week in which the exclusion occurs. Any other tuition fees paid in advance will be refunded. Photo Release Policy Attendance of a child at KidsCamp implies and grants the parents and/or guardians permission to KidsCamp and/or KidsCare officials the right to use, reproduce, and/or distribute photographs of their child participating in KidsCamp activities, without compensation or approval rights, for use in materials created for purposes of promoting the activities of KidsCamp. 2
