LEADING HEALTHY LIVES
In Chicago, participants improved an average 25.56% in
physical health as measured by a cardiovascular
running test.
In Milwaukee, the number of participants categorized as
obese decreased by 9.5%.
THE RESULT
IS A TEAM OF CHILDREN WHO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS...
In New York, participants ran an average of 34% further
in a post-assessment than they did at the beginning of
the season.
BECOMING
ENGAGED STUDENTS
In Cleveland, 86% of parents believe that their child's
school attendance has improved because they don't
want to miss the America SCORES programming.
In DC, the number of participants who like school and
believe they will graduate increased by 18%.
An evaluation by Educational Research Consultants
determined that America SCORES LA elementary school
students attend nine more days of school than their
peers.
In 2012, America SCORES was selected to join the
American Graduate movement, a campaign presented
by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to improve
high school graduation rates. The campaign showcased a
series of PSAs with poetry by poet-athletes in St. Louis and
featured America SCORES on a national PBS broadcast as
part of American Graduate Day.

IN THE
CLASSROOM,

COMMUNITY.
In Seattle, an external evaluator found a significant 60%
improvement in participants’ writing samples.
In New England, participants improved in English
Language Arts by 7.8 points as measured by the MCAS
Test.
In St. Louis, participants showed a 50% improvement in
their writing (mastering the use of two out of four literary
devices).
In the Bay Area, 69% of participants positively changed
in eight targeted behaviors.
Graduating is what’s right
Because then your future
