Risk Research<br />

* Increase nanotech envir<strong>on</strong>ment, health and safety research (EHS) funding<br />

* Strengthen Nati<strong>on</strong>al Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) coordinati<strong>on</strong><br />

* Require a peer-reviewed EHS research plan<br />

* Encourage separati<strong>on</strong> of NNI promoti<strong>on</strong>al and <str<strong>on</strong>g>oversight</str<strong>on</strong>g> functi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

* Establish a Nanotechnology Effects Institute, similar to the Health Effects Institute (a joint<br />

undertaking of EPA and the automobile industry devoted to research <strong>on</strong> the health<br />

* Establish an Interagency Nanotechnology Regulatory Group<br />
