Toongabbie Sports Club junior bowlers Nick Sawell, Jeremy Suffolk and
Sean McGovern represented Zone 10 Juniors in the Junior Metro Shield
at Warilla last Sunday. The competition is represented by 16 Zones and
Zone 10 finished second despite beating the winners Zone 16. Our three
bowlers played very well and represented our club at a high standard.
On behalf of Toongabbie Sports Club we would like to congratulate our
bowlers and hope they keep up the good work.

Bulldogs Look a Real Contender for the Title
It’s that time of the year again when we all bring out our football
jumpers and head to the Toongabbie Sports Club on a weekend and
cheer our favourite team on. It was a great atmosphere at the
Toongabbie Sports Club on Saturday afternoon when the local
Parramatta Eel’s played a hot favourite in the Warriors. Parramatta
showed that they are ready to put last years performance behind them
and are in for a big 2011. Kiwi Steve Barron was full of yap before the
game as he could only sit and take it on the chin from the large crowd
of Parramatta supporters at Toongabbie Sports Club
The other team to stand out in round 1 was the Canterbury Bulldogs
beating favourites West Tigers. The Bulldogs have recruited well and
have had a good off season. The Bulldogs won the battle of the
forwards and were far superior in their kicking game. The battle of the
hookers has been a talking point for a long time and Michael Ennis took
the points again last night. The Tigers are a quality team and I’m sure
they will bounce back next week against the Warriors.
Last year’s Toongabbie Sports Club footy tipping winner Lorraine Troth
has got away to a slow start on 4 points. Dennis Leahy stands alone in
front on 7 points with 12 punters sitting 1 point behind on 6 points.
