Jenkins Produces Bowl of the Year<strong>Toongabbie</strong>’s Barry Jenkins produced the bowl of the year to guide his team ofJack Bryce, Maurie Boatswain, & Stewart Bills to a last bowl win in the final of theclub fours. Jenkins knew it would be a tough fight against the family of Adam Troth,Barry Troth, Jeremy Suffolk and Brad Suffolk.In a game that changed leaders on several occasions Jenkins team skipped awayto a 17-11 lead after 15 ends. Adam Troth produced some great skipper bowls towin the next five ends to be behind by one going in to the last end.Troth held three shots on the last end but Jenkins produced the bowl of the year todraw the shot and win the game 18-16. Spectators are still talking about the bowlthat won the game. Dynamic Duo Back Together AgainIt has been some time since they have played together but the2005 pairs champions stated their claims for a spot in the No 1pennant team after a great display of bowls. That’s right I’mtalking about Keith Smith and Peter Dive who teamed up withJeremy Suffolk and Paul Harper to win their rink by 14 shots overPremier League star Brett Pritchard. Dive was full of praise for Smithand said they know each other’s game very well.With a trial on 26 th February against power house St John’s Parkthe pair will have to produce the goods again. Unveiling of the Les McCabe Flag<strong>The</strong> <strong>Toongabbie</strong> and surrounding community braved thesweltering temperatures to come and see the unveiling of theLes McCabe Flag. Les also known to many as theCommissioner missed out on Australian of the Year by thesmallest margin was honoured for his ongoing hard work in thecommunity. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Toongabbie</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Club</strong> powerbroker washumble in his praise saying he is a man of the people andwould keep up his good work in the club and the community.<strong>The</strong> Les McCabe flagLost & ForgottenTwo code of conduct breaches occurred this week in Grade1.Who left the club with no bowls?Who remembered to take his bowls, but then failed to retrievethe correct bag when being dropped off at his car?Looks like both will have do some extra training it what isrequired to play in the top grade.
