CARROLL HALL SHELBY (1923–2012)
THE MAN, THE MACHINE, OUR FRIEND!
Carroll Shelby certainly was one of the greatest
icons to inuence our sport, hobby and racing circles
in the annuals of automotive industry. If he wasn’t
the Father of Performance, he certainly was one of the
true mentors to those of us thinking, living, loving and
breathing performance and racing.
We all know the nal step in life is to pass over to
the next unknown world. That in itself describes Carroll
Shelby very well, for he was a true pioneer. When
that step comes, it leaves many saddened and longing
for our missing friend. Certainly that is very true with
Carroll. But I’m sure he would strongly suggest we
limit our mourning and move on. Move on to bigger
and better things. As he once said, “The greatest car in
the world is the next one I make!” My guess is that he is
already ne-tuning the Cobra-based chariot in which
he now rides in that great race track in the heavens!
Join with us as we celebrate all things Shelby. Team
Shelby Northeast leads the way in reminding us of
the accomplishments of The Man. Shelby American
is here to oer rock-solid proof of the performance
potential of Shelby’s greatest ideas. Ford stands in the
background, providing the platform on which Shelby
worked his magic. You, the loyal Blue Oval and Shelby
fans, trust them all. Your passion for the car is taken
to ever-increasing heights with the horsepower and
performance demonstrating the passion, further en-

suring the fact that this man will never be forgotten.
His legacy lives on in the hearts, minds and souls of
all those who own, drive or want to drive one of the
machines designed by him.
The entire Carlisle Events family, led by both of the
Miller families, wishes to express to all the fans, friends
and certainly the family of Carroll Shelby our condolences
and expressions of sympathy. We remember
him fondly. He will be missed by many.
Join us for a moment of silence to remember an
icon and great friend. Stop and briey mourn his passing.
But let us more remember and celebrate with
great joy the life, the accomplishments and the great
achievements that Carroll left behind for us to ponder
