On behalf of the entire Carlisle Events 

team, welcome to Carlisle Performance & 

Style 2011 and thank you for being a part 

of one of the largest, if not THE largest, 

import tuner/modern custom events in 

the country! Performance & Style (P&S) 

is not just a car show but a weekend-long 

celebration of the import tuner/modern 

custom hobby. I think you will fi nd that 

to be the case again this year with a 

weekend full of activities, stunt shows,

special displays, competitions and special 

guests. 

Additions to this year ‘s event include special guest Vaughn Gittin Jr., 2010 Formula 

Drift Champion, Best-of-Carlisle and Carlisle Elite top-fl ight cash prizes, legendary motorcycle 

stunt team - the StarBoyz, a parked-by-class judged showfi eld, remote control 

drifting and a Euro/Stance indoor invitational display. 

Past favorites returning this year include the ICE House – displaying custom vehicles 

with a focus on in-car-entertainment, NICOFest autocross racing and drifting, the 

Manufacturers Midway and Swap Meet vending areas and the famous Carlisle burnout 

and bikini contests. 

Of course this isn’t all the weekend will have to off er. Be sure to check out the schedule 

of events listed on pages 2-6. 

Last year, our theme for P&S was “The Movement is Still Alive” in reference to the 

hobby not only being alive and well but also that you as enthusiasts are just as passionate 

about your cars and the scene as ever before and you proved it with over 1,600 

cars on the P&S showfi eld! As much as the activities, displays, competitions and special 

guests add to the excitement of this weekend; the event is still about you and your 

passion for self-expression, performance, competition and the opportunity to spend 

time with like-minded people.

Pets are strongly discouraged for health and safety reasons. If 

you cannot make other arrangements for boarding, your pet 

must be on a leash and policing after it is required. Your pet 

must be under your control at all times, and you are fully responsible 

for its actions. Any off ensive or unsafe action by your 

pet may result in expulsion without refund. 

TRANSPORTATION •••••••••••••••• 

For safety reasons, the use of all personal means of transportation 

(bikes, scooters, golf carts, ATVs, motorcycles 

or minibikes, etc.) is forbidden on the Fairgrounds from 

7 a.m.-5 p.m. on all show days. No unlicensed drivers may 

operate these vehicles at any time. Verifi cation of insurance is 

required.

Dangerous conditions can exist on the Fairgrounds. Due to exposure 

to the weather, areas may become slippery or soft. Due 

to the nature of the goods displayed, heavy and sometimes 

dangerous equipment and moving vehicles are frequently 

present. Carlisle Productions cannot be responsible for the 

conduct of vendors and patrons entering these premises. Those 

who enter the Fairgrounds do so at their own risk.

and drift exhibitions throughout the

DRIFTSYLVANIA R/C DRIFTING ••• 

As the sport of drifting took the U.S.A. 

by storm in the 

last decade, 

it was only 

natural for the 

hobby of R/C 

drifting to follow. Driftsylvania, a group 

of friends who shared the same hobby 

started a group to put the East Coast 

on the R/C drifting map. Driftsylvania 

is hosting both competitive drifting as 

well as demonstrations. They’ll even give 

you the chance to test your skills whipping 

their custom electric drift-built cars 

around the Pavilion.

demo as part of the 2012 Carlisle Hip

LOWEST CAR & TRUCK LIMBO •••• 

We will have a vehicle limbo bar set-up in 

multiple increments. Each car and truck 

must make their way under the bar without 

smoking tires and without knocking 

the limbo bar over. The last vehicle not 

to knock off the limbo bar wins! Pre- 

registration 

is required at

STANCE-STANCE REVOLUTION ••• 

The newest 

“trend” to hit 

the show scene is stance-built wheel fi tment 

cars. The guys at Low Life & Junk 

Style don’t see it as a trend though because 

they have been rolling low all 

along. Building, owning and living the 

stance lifestyle has always been something 

they did and now they’re sharing 

their passion and cars with us. 

JUDGED SHOWFIELD •••••••••••••• 

The judged showfi eld returns to a 

parked-byclass 

format 

this year. The 

judges will be 

able to comparecompetiing 

vehicles while you get to be side-byside 

with your competition. JUDGING 

WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY ONLY 

10 a.m. - 5 p.m.. Each car owner will 

have fi ve minutes with the judges to talk 

about their vehicle and the work that 

went into their build. 

Winner’s lists will be available at 

10 a.m. Sunday morning at the Goody 

Bag Garage. Winners must check in to 

join the parade or to pick up their award. 

If you cannot attend the event on Sunday, 

your award may be shipped to you 

for a $10 fee or picked up at our offi ce 

during regular business hours or at any 

future event. 

The decisions of the judges are fi nal. 

All judging sheets become the property 

of the judging team and WILL NOT be 

returned following the judging process. 

If you have questions concerning the results, 

please see a member of the judging 

team at the Goody Bag Garage or 

Carlisle Events staff member before you 

leave the fairgrounds.

VAUGHN GITTIN JR. & CARLISLE ELITE 

Vaughn Gittin Jr., 2010 Formula Drift 

Champion, has become one of drifting’s 

most iconic fi gures. Vaughn’s passion for 

motorsports started early in his life. He 

began racing go-carts and riding dirt 

bikes in his hometown of Mayo, Maryland 

located just south of Annapolis at 

the age of four. 

Vaughn has come a long way from racing 

go-karts to become one of drifting’s 

most recognizable fi gures. His machine, 

the Monster Energy/Falken Tire Ford Racing 

Mustang, is one of the sport’s most 

identifi able cars. Vaughn is known best 

by his aggressive, foot-to-the-fl oor, bigsmoke 

driving style. 

In addition to his 2010 Formula D title, 

Vaughn is the only American to ever 

win a D1 Grand Prix event, not once – 

but twice. In 2005, Vaughn stunned the 

world when he won the D1GP USA vs. 

Japan. In 2007, he brought home the

gold to America once more by winning 

the D1GP World Championship. He has 

achieved three wins and multiple podiums 

throughout his Formula Drift career. 

For the 2010 season, Vaughn made the 

switch over to a 2011 Monster Energy/ 

Falken Tire Ford Mustang. When the season 

ended, Vaughn had reached the podium 

at an incredible six out of seven Formula 

Drift events. He started the season 

off with a Round 1 win in Long Beach and 

then took second place at both Round 2 

in Atlanta and Round 3 in New Jersey. At 

Round 5 in Las Vegas, he took third place 

atop the Falken Tire podium sweep and 

at Round 6 in Sonoma, he once again 

took the win. At the fi nal event of the 

season, at Irwindale Speedway, Vaughn 

took the second place spot, securing his 

overall season title, a goal Vaughn has 

chased for the past seven years. 

In 2010 Vaughn launched his brand for 

a new generation of Mustang, the RTR. 

The Mustang RTR has been Vaughn’s vision 

for years that just recently came to 

reality. It is a dealer-installed package for 

the 2011 Ford Mustang GT V-8, available

Do you think you’ve come a long way for the 2011 Performance & Style show? Whether 

you traveled from down the street or across the region, it’s likely that your journey 

can’t compare with that of Andy Sola. 

Attending his fi rst Performance & Style event, Sola comes to central Pennsylvania 

all the way from Adelaide, Australia and is doing so to fi nally meet a lot of his NICO 

friends in person. “The best place to do so is in Carlisle,” noted Sola. “I’m also very interested 

in cars in general and the scene in 

the U.S.A. is very diff erent than the one 

in Australia.” 

Sola has been involved with NICO for 

more than fi ve years and has always enjoyed 

working on his own cars. “NICO 

was able to give hints and tips on how to 

disassemble and rebuild certain things 

on the Infi niti Q45,” added Sola. “Someone 

even sent me a copy of the PDF user 

manual for nothing! That’s why I always 

keep coming back to NICO.”

club started in 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Today, Scikotics has 

over 70 chapters 

stretching across 

the U.S.A. and is the 

largest non-profi t 

Scion owners club in the world. 

Scikotics is unique because of a shared 

message board. On the Scikotics.com 

forums, all chapters have their own area 

to post local events and have conversations, 

but there are many common areas 

for members to chat about anything, 

whether its Scion related or not. This 

leads to a large sense of community with 

members from around the nation. 

Another important part of the club is 

supporting other Scikotics clubs. If a club 

is having a car show or event, an eff ort 

is made by most, if not all other Scikotics 

clubs in the area to go to the show or 

event to support their fellow Scikotics. 

This year, we’ve teamed up with the York, 

Reading and Lehigh Valley Chapters to 

spread the message about the fi rst annual 

Scikotics of PA Ward @ Carlisle gathering. 

They are so appreciative to those 

chapters for all of their help and hope to 

see this fi rst-time event grow into a huge 

gathering of Scion enthusiasts at P&S in 

the coming years!!!

Scion owners in general are very much 

an example of the 

Carlisle Events slogan 

which reads,

Scikotics are some of the most 

passionate people about their CARS, 

they are all about getting together with 

PEOPLE who share their EXCITEMENT not 

only for the Scions but for cruising, showing 

and hanging out with other Scikotics. 

Our hope is that Performance & Style 

will become that get-together event 

home for the Northeastern Chapters, 

which include: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, 

Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, West Virginia 

and New England. Scikotics members 

and chapters will be taking over the 

north end of the Pavilion this weekend, 

located just across from the exclusive 

Scion-only showfi eld and alongside R/C 

drifting this weekend. Be sure to stop by

Chip Miller, co-founder of Carlisle 

Events died in March 2004 of complications 

related to Amyloidosis. Chip 

may have been diagnosed earlier 

and still be with us today had awareness 

of the disease been greater. 

Amyloidosis is a disease caused by 

the abnormal accumulation of protein 

molecules in body tissues. Signs 

and symptoms depend on the organs 

aff ected. The wide range of signs 

and symptoms makes it diffi cult to 

diagnose, and there may even be no 

symptoms. Some signs and symptoms 

may include: 

• Swelling of ankles and legs 

• Shortness of breath 

• Numbness/tingling in hands/feet 

• Abnormal protein in urine 

• Severe fatigue 

• Enlarged tongue 

• Irregular heartbeat 

• Diffi culty swallowing 

• Skin changes 

• Diarrhea 

• Weakness
